NO ZOMBIES!

NO ZOMBIES!

By Ken Blue

There is no proof that there will be a 40 day waiting period between the resurrection of the saints and the rapture. The charge for you to disprove the argument is like challenging you to PROVE that Peter did not kill his mother-in-law. You may not believe it, but there is no way you can PROVE he did not. That is the spider-web the zombie doctrine is built on.

Also, there are too many “ifs” and “maybes” in the argument. In addition, the use of Lot and Noah has no place or reference to the church of this dispensation. Those verses speak of the days of Israel. In that day, their coming Tribulation. In the day of the second coming, not the rapture (Lk. 17:34-37; Mt. 24:27-31; 25:31-46; Rev. 19:11-21).

The argument that zombies will spend 40 days witnessing may be appealing…The fact that the dead in Christ rise first, is not proof that there will be 40 days before the rapture. The only answer to that challenge, by the creator of this false doctrine, is, “I will be as critical of your answer as you are of mine.” What kind of proof it that?

Lastly, the argument that these zombies will spend those 40 days witnessing to the lost may be appealing, but that is not what the Apostles spent their time doing. See, “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” Acts 1:6. One may conveniently overlook the fact that they were required to WAIT 40 days for the witnessing power of the Holy Spirit.

Thus, belief in a zombie doctrine is a stretch of an imagination gone wild and an attempt to be novel and sensational. It may be novel, but it is not sensational. Neither is it validated by any Scripture, Nor should one give this novelty a serious thought.

DO YOU KNOW WHY 90% OF PEOPLE WASH OUT IN THEIR EMPLOYMENT?

  1. IT IS NOT THEIR INABILITY TO DO THE JOB AT HAND.
  2. IT IS THEIR INABILITY TO HAVE REPORT WITH THEIR SUPERIORS. (Present oneself formally as having arrived at a particular place or as ready to do something. Present oneself arrive turn up   clock in sign in punch in show up be responsible to (a superior or supervisor).
  3. IT IS THEIR INABILITY TO RELATE TO PEERS. (They can’t understand the need to relate to peers.)

THE PLANNING ARROW

planningBy Ken Blue

NEED, THEN PURPOSE GO IN THE TARGET. OBJECTIVES GO ON THE LINES ON THE SHAFT. THESE MUST SUPPORT YOUR PURPOSE. GOALS ARE DETERMINED FROM THE OBJECTIVES.

GOALS MUST BE:

  • S – specific, significant, stretching.
  • M – measurable, meaningful, motivational.
  • A – agreed upon, attainable, achievable, acceptable, action-oriented.
  • R – realistic, relevant, reasonable, rewarding, results-oriented.
  • T – time-based, time-bound, timely, tangible, trackable.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PREACHING, TEACHING, AND TRAINING

March 13, 2017 by Ken Blue

PREACHERS SHOULD PREACH, TEACH, AND TRAIN

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.” Matthew 4:23.

“Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.” Acts 15:35.

“Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.” Acts 28:31

Preaching is the message announced by preachers and is primarily for the purpose of conversion. We could say, with accuracy, Jesus preached to the multitudes, and taught His Disciples. Perhaps the Twelve taught the Seventy and the Seventy, the hundred and twenty.

Teaching consist of the message taught by preachers that explains, clarifies, and applies, with exhortation. It is primarily for building faith, Christian conviction, and character. One of the qualifications of a pastor is he must be “apt to teach.” (I Tim. 3:2. II Tim. 2:24). Paul seemed to have his greatest success by teaching. Many pastors are excellent preachers, but they also need to distinguish between the two, and master teaching.

Training is a task whereby preachers develop skill sets in trainees.  According to Webster’s Dictionary, the definition of training is: the act, process, or method of one that trains. The skill, knowledge, or experience acquired by one that trains. The state of being trained. A young doctor who’s still in training. She’s in training for the Olympics.

[perfectpullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Training others may be the greatest weakness of many good preachers.[/perfectpullquote]

Synonyms: drill, practice (also practice), routine, exercise, workout, assignment, homework, lesson; brush up, refresher, review, spring training, a process by which someone is taught the skills that are needed for an art, profession, or job. The process by which an athlete prepares for competition by exercising, practicing, etc. It is the skill, knowledge, or experience acquired by a person or animal who has trained. Thus, training is showing how, assisting in the task, the trainee performs the task. Correction and encouragement are given as necessary. Training others may be the greatest weakness of many good preachers.

NOT AN “-ITE”

December 16, 2016 by Ken Blue

Influential men

influential menRecently, Pastor Hughes asked me who the most influential men were in my ministry.  I hesitate to give any name except “Jesus”, but that would not be true and it has a ring of self-righteousness to it; so here we go.

The first man on the list is Pastor Harvey Taylor. Pastor Taylor was pastor in Wenatchee, Washington where I was saved at age 17.  He passed on to be with the Lord years ago.

The second was Leroy and Florence Friend of Soap Lake, Washington.  This wonderful family mentored us for the Lord.  they gave me my first copy of C. Larkin’s Dispensational Truth.  I will forever be indebted for their influence and friendship of fifty years.  Their ministry was one of discipleship.

The third person to have a strong and lasting impact on me is Dr. Jack Hyles.  Brother Hyles taught me the value of Soul-winning and made me believe I could do great things for the Lord.  I thank God for Dr. Hyles.

The fourth was Dr. Ruckman, who taught me to rightly divide the Word of God.  He was the one who encouraged me to do some writing.  He has always been gracious to me and I thank him for that.

The fifth person in Dr. Tom Malone, he was pastor and president of Midwestern Baptist College.  Dr. Malone was one of the best preachers in America, he also was a master at teaching young men how to start and pastor the local church.

Brother Hughes stated that he thought Rick Warren would be on the list.  I assured him that he was not. Some of the brethren have spread gossip about me because I believe a pastor can learn some things about outreach and church structure from Warren’s book.  The idea that we can only learn from “our crowd” is foolish and Pharisaical.  However, I am not a Talor-ite, a Friend-ite, a Hyles-ite, a Ruckman-ite, a Malone-ite, or a Warren-ite.  I am a Bible believer; nothing more and nothing less.
