WHY THE WOMEN IN MY CHURCH DON’T WEAR PANTS

The following are five of the most absurd reasons that I have heard during my ministry:

  1. MOST OF MY PASTOR FRIENDS HAVE THIS STANDARD, AND I DON’T WANT TO LOSE THEIR FRIENDSHIP.

 

  1. I NEEDED A BIBLE VERSE TO JUSTIFY THIS STANDARD, SO I PULLED ONE OUT OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. (“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.” Deuteronomy 22:5. We hope no one sees “Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.” Deuteronomy 22:11. We would look like hypocrites, and we could not explain why we don’t obey it.)

 

  1. THUS, OUR WOMEN WEAR DRESSES, EVEN THOUGH THE CLEAVAGE IS TO THE BELLY BUTTON, THE LENGTH IS UP TO THE THIGH, AND IT IS SO TIGHT THEY HAD TO USE VASELINE TO SLIP ONTO IT. THANK GOD, AT LEAST THEY AREN’T WEARING PANTS!

 

  1. I’VE BEEN TOLD THAT WOMEN WHO WEAR PANTS ARE “HUSSIES, WORLDLY, IMMODEST, AND VIOLATING SCRIPTURE.” WE DON’T WANT ANY OF THOSE WOMEN IN OUR CHURCH. THEY WILL CORRUPT THE GOOD GODLY WOMEN.

 

  1. CHURCHES MUST SET STANDARDS ON HOW PEOPLE DRESS.

THE MOST IGNORANT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ARE ATHEIST.

 If I were the Devil I’d point to the hypocrites in the church, and I’d scoff…

I’d point to imaginary contradictions in the Bible, and I’d scoff…

And I would convince you that all religions are after your money, and I’d scoff…

 

If I were the Devil I’d keep your mind occupied with movies, music, and money.

I’d convince you that evolution is right, and that there is no purpose for your existence.

And you are a product of chance, and the chimpanzee is your first cousin.

 

If I were the Devil I’d poison your mind with pornography until you couldn’t think of anything else.

I’d destroy your body with drugs, and alcohol until you were burned out.

And I would destroy your soul through bitterness at the God you do not believe exist.

 

If I were the Devil I’d keep you so busy you would become set in your ways.

I’d harden your will as concrete, so when it came time for you to die, you’d have no desire or will to believe.

And I’d destroy your life, or bless it, so you would curse God as you go home with me to hell forever. And then I’d scoff!

KNOWLEDGE IS A DANGEROUS TOOL IN THE HAND OF THE FOOLISH

“…Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” 1 Corinthians 8:1 .

I remember asking an older pastor, whom I respect very much, “How do you get wisdom?” He said, “I guess you just plead ignorance.” If we do that, and mean it, it opens our heart so God can teach us.

I am familiar with the passages in Proverbs and James on this subject, and I have tried to make them a habit in my life. However, I have met men who can quote the Bible backward, and it is evident that they are sadly in need of wisdom. What my pastor friend was telling me was that one must come to God with a spirit and attitude of personal ignorance before he can be taught wisdom.

The context of the above verse is not written to those who were ignorant of the Scriptures. They were ignorant of what was most important. They assumed that their knowledge of Scripture gave them liberty to ignore the weak, uninformed, and baby Christians who were not up to their level of “Bible knowledge. “But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.” 1 Corinthians 8:9.

Knowledge is a dangerous thing, yes, even of the Bible, when it is in the hands of the foolish, or one who does not consider others. There are many passages in the Bible that are difficult to understand, but everyone understands when you love and care about them. If we will show the love of Christ to others first, they will open up their heart and mind so they become teachable.

How do you get wisdom? You go to God as a little child, and you admit your own ignorance.  Then, you ask Him to help, lead, and guide you in the area of concern. Remember, your knowledge of the Scriptures does not mean you know how to rightly divide them, balance them, or apply them in the real world. “…Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” 1 Corinthians 8:1. May God grant all of that wisdom from above.

HAROLD CAMPING PLAYS THE ACES UP HIS SLEEVE

Harold Camping Changes Course

In my blog of May 16th titled SNEAKY SNAKE, I told a follower of Camping to keep those aces up his sleeve because he would need to play them after May 21. Well, well, well, can you believe that Mr. Camping just went public and play his. I knew he would.

He said his mistake was that he failed to understand that the date was speaking of a “spiritual” judgment that begin May 21st and that the physical destruction of the earth would take place October 21, 2011. I think I’m going to be sick! This man is shameless. No doubt there are a few more suckers out there he can glean a few $ from before October 21.

Mr. Camping sounds like a comedian I heard some years ago. A man was standing under a light pole on a dark night snapping his fingers. Another man walked up and asks, “What are you doing?” He responded, “I’m keeping the elephants away.” The other man said, “You fool, there isn’t an elephant with a hundred miles of here,” to which the other responded; “I’m doing a pretty go job aren’t I?”

You see, Mr. Camping has changed horses on you and “spiritualized” the event to where no one can prove him wrong. That’s how you do it, children. Now you should be able to understand how easy it will be for the Antichrist to deceive the whole world. Ignorance of how to rightly divide the Scriptures leaves you vulnerable to every false teaching. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.” 2 Timothy 2:16-18 .
