WHY NO CHRISTIAN HAS AUTHORITY OR POWER TO HEAL

There are many today preying on the sick, hurting, and infirmed, under the pretense that they have a special message or power from God to set them free. These men and women are false teachers and making merchandise of the hurting by selling their books, tapes, and seminars.

I can prove to you that no person on earth today has the gift of healing as taught in the Bible. In fact, my book on Why Bible Believers do not Speak in Tongues, silences all of them, and no one has or can refute it.

I will give a list of questions on this subject. They are simple, and the respondent should be strait forward with his or her answers. Please don’t waste my time with your beliefs or hearsay. We want the truth.

  1. Do you believe the miracle working power Jesus and the disciples had are present today?
  2. Do you know anyone with those powers?
  3. Do you know anyone who was dead three days or more and was raised from the dead?
  4. Do you know of any mentally retarded person who was healed by the gift of healing?
  5. Do you know anyone blind from birth, and a faith healer restored their sight?
  6. Do you know anyone who could not walk for 40 years, and was restored by a faith healer?
  7. Do you know a miracle worker who walks on water?
  8. Do you know a miracle worker who feed thousands with a little boy’s lunch?
  9. Do you know anyone with ALS that was healed by a faith healer?
  10. Do you know anyone who had Alzheimer’s that was healed by a faith healer?

If you have positive answers to the above, please send us their name and address so we may contact them.

The above ten questions should be enough to get us started. Now, before you answer; yes I believe the entire Bible. Because I know how to rightly divide it, I don’t believe in Faith Healers or any of their claims today. However, proof is sufficient. Kingdom miracles fazed out as that gospel was rejected, and the new gospel of grace was introduced by Paul.

GO EASY ON HAROLD CAMPING; YOU MUST BE JOKING!

IS MR. CAMPING A BROTHER IN CHRIST?

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” 2 Cor. 11:13-15.

“Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not” Matt. 24:23-26.

Some who have written to me have suggested that Mr. Camping is a brother in Christ and that we should overlook his teachings and false prophecies. But I cannot and will not. The damage he has done to the cause of Christ is irreparable.

There are thousands around the world who believed him because he claimed what he believed is taught in the Bible. He has made a laughing stock of Christianity. Those who may have had some interest in Spiritual matters will conclude the Bible is not true.

Mr. Camping should shut up, close his Bible up, fold his ministry up, and give up all the money he has extorted from others. I expect Mr. Camping to adjust his teaching again to continue his ministry of deception. Some of us know a wolf when we see one, and we know demonic teaching when we hear it. In my opinion, Mr. Camping is both.

My advice is to stop interpreting the Bible from world events, or people who profess to have special insight into the Bible. We need to interpret world events from a correct division and understanding of the Scriptures. You must study it for yourself and learn how to rightly divide it. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15. You are commanded to do this… “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” Ephesians 4:14.

No, we will not cut Mr. Camping any slack. He has brought reproach on my Bible, my Savior, my church, and my brothers in Christ. Also, many souls will be lost because of his twisted false teachings.

WHY NO BAPTIST CAN OBEY THE “GREAT COMMISSION.”

“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:16-20.

If I have one Baptist friend left out there in “blog land,” this article will probably be the end of that relationship. I don’t write these to make enemies; I have enough of them. I need any friend I might have. However, there are some subjects that must be confronted and dealt with scripturally.

Although I have chosen Matthew 28 as the “great commission,” we must be honest and admit that it is no greater than Mark 16. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” Mark 16:15-18. (See also Luke 24:46-49; Acts 1:8).

What is the truth about this commission?

  1. They were given to the eleven disciples.
  2. They were to make disciples throughout the world.
  3. They were to observe whatsoever He had commanded them.
  4. Signs would be evident in their ministry.
    • They would cast out devils.
    • They would speak in new tongues. (Not unknown tongues).
    • They would handle snakes.
    • No deadly poison will hurt them.
    • They will be able to lay hands on the sick and the sick will recover.
  5. The following was also given to His seventy disciples. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19.

Now if anyone would like to go through the four gospels and see what Jesus had commanded His disciples, and then show that they are doing those things, we will eat this page. In fact, the only thing Baptist are doing, found in the great commission, is going and baptizing. They do not teach what He had taught His disciples, they cannot do one of the miracles promised them. and they don’t have the power to blow fuzz off a peanut. The same goes for every Charismatic impostor.

Finally, if these fulfilled their commission, why was Paul saved, commissioned, and called “the Apostle to the Gentiles?” Who were the eleven to preach to? what was the content of their gospel? Why was Paul the writer of the church epistles, and why would he say he was not sent to baptize, when the command in Matthew 28 is the heart of that commission?

It’s ok to speak up and explain to us how you do, or do not obey the great commissions. The world is waiting.

A CONSERVATIVE CHURCH IN A LIBERAL WORLD

HOW TO HAVE A CONSERVATIVE CHURCH TODAY

Societies and cultures are not static. Some countries continue to live in the Stone Age; others are still living in the culture of the Old Testament, while much of the world continues to move into the space age of satellite technology. Is progress really good? If it is bad or good, how do we choose between the two?

It is relatively easy to find a Bible verse to defend, or defy any position we take concerning the church. Each person believes his views are biblically based, and yet each may be light years from each other. For example, there are pastors who use Old Testament Scripture to prove that women should only wear dresses. “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.” Deuteronomy 22:5. To them, all women who wear pants are an abomination to God!

A good friend of mine teaches that women must keep silent in the church, thus no testimonies or special music by women. Women are not allowed to cut their hair. Pre-recorded background music is not permitted.

Some churches believe Sunday has replaced the Sabbath. It is the Lord’s Day and must be kept holy. They honor Sunday by not washing their car on Sunday, playing sports, or watching television. I have also met Christians who believe it is a sin to serve meals in the church anytime.

Some pastors will not allow guest speakers to sell their books after a service, while others allow t-shirts, CD’s, and jelly beans to be sold.

I know a godly pastor who is opposed to cowboy boots, wire-rimmed glasses, and jewelry. I know an evangelist who rails on PowerPoint but continues to use the overhead projector. (?)

Some pastors are petrified of the brethren. It is their fear that controls them. They will only use musical instruments they believe their cronies will approve. Everyone pretends that everything else is too progressive. They do not realize the absurdity of their view.

It is not the form or formality believers should be fighting over. These differ and change. No one should be rejected because his or her service differs from yours. It is biblical truth for this dispensation we should be conserving and defending. There’s not one church in a thousand that adheres to the conservative views held a hundred years ago. Paul never made an issue over days, diets, dress, facial hair, or sideburns. We are under grace, and we should never allow others to bring us under their bondage. Grace is not a license to sin. However, it is not a sin for others to differ from you. Neither is it wise to carry money through a neighborhood of thieves just because you have traveled that path for years.

We must adjust our convictions to those of the dispensation of grace as taught by Paul, the Apostle to the church. If we fail to adjust to this dispensation, we can make the Bible teach anything we choose. You can have a conservative church in a liberal world if you know what to conserve, and what to change.

GOD’S TWO PROGRAMS

THE PROGRAMS OF PROPHECY AND THE MYSTERY OF THE CHURCH

“ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 10:5-7.

“But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 15:24.

“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:” Romans 15:8.

“ Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Colossians 1:25-27.

“And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:” Ephesians 3:9.

These are just a few of the many passages that explain that there are two programs in the Word of God. One is the program of prophecy and concerns Israel, and the other is the program of the mystery and concerns the church, the body of Christ. The church is never the subject of prophecy. Prophecy concerning Israel, their King, their land, and their kingdom; the subject of prophecy is from the very beginning.

But, the fact that there would be a body consisting of Jew and Gentile; where each is saved by grace alone, without Israel or the Law, was unknown until revealed to and by the Apostle Paul. This mystery church was unknown in every dispensation. This is why it is called a “mystery.”

The ministry of Peter and the Twelve concerned the fulfillment of prophecy and is called the gospel of the circumcision. “But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;” Galatians 2:7. The gospel preached by Paul was all grace and is the gospel of the un-circumcision. Some assume that Paul and Peter had the same gospel message, but that is not what the text says. It does not say to the circumcision; that would be contrary to the commissions in the gospels and early Acts.

Peter made it clear that Israel was living in the last days of prophecy for them, if they would repent. “But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: Acts 2:16-20. Since they did not repent, the finalization of Joel’s last days of prophecy will be after the rapture of the body of Christ.

The two programs are crystal clear once we understand the purpose of Paul’s ministry. The two programs of God concern prophecy and the mystery. The unseen and unrevealed mystery of the church, the body of Christ, was hid from the foundation of the world until made known to and through Paul.
