THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF REFORMING THE FOOL

January 29, 2013 by Ken Blue

woman grain

“Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.” Proverbs 27:22 .

The book of Proverbs has much to say about the impossibility of teaching or instructing the fool. The above text show just how difficult it is.

There are three words that are unfamiliar to those of us in the West. They are, bray, mortar, and pestle. These are illustrated in the picture.

The word, bray, means to pounds or pulverize grain until it was turned to powder. The powder was then mixed with water and made into bread.

The next word is mortar. It means a hollow place, as you see above. It was usually in a stone that was hollowed out for that purpose. The grain was placed in the mortar or hollow place, and then pounded to powder.

Finally, you have the word pestle. The pestle is the interment in the hands of the woman. With it she pounds the grain within the mortar into a power.

The only ingredient remaining was the fool. The writer is saying, if you put the fool in the mortar with the grain, and pound him to power with the pestle, he still would not cease being a fool. He is too stupid to depart from his foolishness. In fact, he may be so foolish; he doesn’t know he is a fool. So, some people are impossible to teach, rebuke, or instruct, and it is a waste of time and energy to correct them.

WHY ATHEIST HATE THE BIBLE-#3

January 27, 2013 by Ken Blue

atheist

BY Ken Blue

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Psalm 53:1-3.

The following is an exchange of emails between an atheist and myself.  As I said before, the atheist is indeed a fool when it comes to science or God. Jeff will never address my questions because he has no answer. Also, he reveals his ignorance of Scripture when trying to use is against me.

Ken,

You still haven’t provided the title of the article and the name of the author to which your feedback pertains. Do that, and, as I said before, I will be glad to forward your feedback to that author for his potential response.

In the meantime, something to keep in mind: I made no claims pertaining to the many unfounded assertions that you present regarding me, rather I asked you a question about your beliefs, a question that should be very easy for you to answer given that you claim to be a Bible-believing Christian for 55 years who is too dumb to care.

By the way, you sound a bit angry in your last email. Were you? According to Jesus, it is a sin to be angry, right?

Jeff,

That was not a sound of anger you detected, it was a rebuke to you for your dishonesty and ignorance. As I said, you aren’t able or qualified to play around with Scripture in an attempt to avoid answering my original questions. You should do a little more research before you try to discredit the Scriptures or me. Before you try to condemn me concerning anger, you should read the following.

“And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.” Mark 3:5.

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:” Ephesians 4:26

If you want a real nugget to show contradiction in the Scripture, you might try this one. “Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.  Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.” Proverbs 26:4-5.

I take it from your response; you were unable and unwilling to address any of the questions in my email. That is strange coming from someone who claims to rely on logic. You could not address one question.

For example, show the logic of the answer to the questions I ask you “Is it reasonable that matter has always existed? Is it reasonable that matter came from nothing? Is it reasonable that life came from  Non-life? Is it reasonable that man progresses and animals never do?”

You not only reveal your ignorance of true science, you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes of Scripture. The first rule is right division is, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a

workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. I am sure you have no concept of what that means. You reveal that in your email.

Your attempt to escape answering my questions will not work. You are the one who relies on superior knowledge and reasoning. Until you learn the meaning of the above verse, and how to apply its rules

of interpretation, you should not attempt to quote any Scripture. I don’t expect you to answer the questions in my previous email, for you cannot

LET’S STUDY REVELATION #33

January 22, 2013 by Ken Blue

REVELON BOOK
CHAPTER ELEVEN
The Mighty Angel and The Two Witnesses

Revelation 10:1 through 11:14 is another parenthetical section and is inserted between the sixth and seventh trumpet, just as the first parenthetical section of chapter 7 is inserted between the sixth and seventh seal. This section also loops back to the three and one-half year mid-point of the tribulation.

“And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:  And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,  And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.  And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.”  (Revelation 10:1-4).

Some hold that this mighty angel is not the Lord Jesus Christ, but some other angel sent to serve and represent Him. They argue He comes down from heaven, and that Christ does not return until the end of the Tribulation. Furthermore, thunders spoke for him and they say Christ would speak for Himself. He also swore by heaven and Him who sat on the throne, whereas, Christ would have sworn by Himself.

We believe these arguments to be weak and unconvincing. Dake gives the following for his proof that the angel is Jesus Christ.

1.   The description of Him in Rev. 10:1 proves He is Christ (cp. Rev. 1:12-16; Daniel 10:5-6).

2.   The book open in His hand proves it.  In Rev. 5:5-7 Christ takes the sealed book out of the right hand of God.  In Rev. 6:1-8:1 He breaks the seals that bind it.  Here the same little book is open so that the contents of the things written within might be revealed

(Rev. 10:2,8-11).

3.   Christ is the one giving John the Revelation

(Rev. 1:1; Rev. 10:4,8-11).

4.   His voice as a lion roaring (Rev. 10:3) identifies Him with the lion of Judah (Rev. 5:5; cp. Isaiah 31:4-5; Jeremiah 25:29-36; Hosea 11:10-11; Joel 3:16; Amos 3:8).  In these passages the Lord is spoken of as a lion roaring in the Day of the Lord.

5.   The swearing of the angel (Rev. 10:6) proves Him to be a divine person, for not one time in Scripture does an ordinary angel make an oath to God or man.  In 50 scriptures it is stated that God swore or made oaths.  In 31 other passages man swears to God and man (cp. Daniel 12:7).

6.   Christ directs John concerning what to write and what not to write (cp. Rev. 1:11,19; Rev. 2:1,8,12,18; Rev. 3:1,7,12,14; Rev. 10:4; Rev. 14:13-14; Rev. 19:9; Rev. 21:5).

7.   In Rev. 11:3 we have definite proof that the angel is Christ, for He says, “I will give power unto my two witnesses.”  This proves Him to be a divine person.

No doubt this angel is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is called the angel of the Lord in the Old Testament. His clothing, the rainbow, and the face that shown as the sun certainly imply this is deity. Feet, as pillars of fire, are similar to those of the Son of Man walking amid the candlesticks. He stands with one foot on the sea and the other on earth, showing ownership and dominion.

Jesus also took the book in His right hand from Him who sat on the throne, in chapter 5, and that book concerns God’s judgment on Satan’s kingdom in order for Christ to reclaim His created and purchased position. There is no reason to doubt that this book is not the same one. Here, a small portion of it remains to be fulfilled. It is logical that Christ, the Creator and Redeemer, would be the One standing with one foot on land and one on the sea with the remaining judgments and the title deed in His hand.

The fact that He set his right foot upon the sea, and His left foot on the earth, shows determination and dominion. “The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land” (Psalm 95:5). It is His by creation and redemption, and now He is reclaiming it by proclamation.

The loud voice, as that of a lions roar, also speaks of conquest and dominion. That is exactly what the Lion of the tribe of Judah is doing here. It is a roar of triumph over the prey!

Seven thunders uttered their voices when the lion roared. To some it sounded like thunder, perhaps to those on earth, but in heaven their voices were clear. This is illustrated in John 12:29, “The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.”John heard clearly what the thunders said and was about to write it when he was told not to, but to seal up the book. What John heard, we are not told.

BETTER THAN I DESERVE

January 20, 2013 by Ken Blue

man prsying

By Ken Blue

If I got what I deserve, I’d be in hell today.

When speaking to God, He would then turn away.

Even the Devil, wouldn’t give me time of day.

If I got what I deserve.

If I got what I deserve, she’d left long ago.

I would have lost every friend; everyone I know.

And like Cain, I’d be banished, with no place to go.

If I got what I deserve.

If I got what I deserve, there’d be no hope for me.

When I would do good, selfish motives I always see.

I vow I’ll do better, but lost I would always be.

If I got what I deserve.

I have no other argument; I have no other plea.

It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me.

He took all that I deserve; my substitute was He.

I’m better than I deserve, by grace sufficiency.

AMNON’S LOVE OR LUST?

January 18, 2013 by Ken Blue

tamar

By Ken Blue  See 2 Samuel 13:1-29

Amnon’s love for Tamar was nothing more than lust.

He thought of her night and day, and have her, he must.

But she was a pure girl in her body and mind,

And was unaware of Amnon’s wicked design.

But, Amnon could not eat, nor could he sleep at night.

And so his crafty friend advised, to solve his plight.

“Pretend that you are sick, and call her to your side,

To prepare you a meal, and for a time abide.”

So, innocent Tamar came, at Amnon’s request.

And prepared him a meal, one of her very best.

But, when she brought it to the bedside, where he lay,

He grabbed her and forced her, and then sent her away.

She pleaded with Amnon; “please do not cast me out.”

She was now defiled, and forced to wander about.

But Amnon now despised her, his lust turned to hate.

“Get her out of my sight; lock the door and the gate.”

Tamar had a brother, whose name was Absalom.

And he had heard from others what Amnon had done.

Absalom gave a party; told Amnon the time.

And when he arrived, he was murdered for his crime.

Amnon’s  love for Tamar was nothing more than lust.

He thought of her night and day, and have her, he must.

But she was a pure girl in her body and mind.

And many girls are fooled by lust’s wicked design.
