WHY YOU HAVE NOT SPOKEN IN TONGUES

July 14, 2012 by Ken Blue

Charismatic pastors tell me that the gift of tongues is the easiest of the gifts to fake. The reason, they say, is it cannot be verified. We agree 100% with them on that issue.

Now, we appeal to reason. If the gift of tongues is present, wouldn’t the other gifts also be with us? In fact, we are told that the gift of tongues is the least important of all gifts. Paul said it was better to speak 5 words that are understood, than 10,000 words in an unknown tongue!

So, let’s move on to the more important gifts. I can prove to you that no person on earth today has the gifts as taught in the Bible. If the other gifts are not here, neither are tongues. In fact, my book, Why Bible Believers do not Speak in Tongues, silences all of them, and no one has or can refute it.

I will give a list of questions on this subject. They are simple, and the respondent should be straight forward with his or her answers. Please don’t waste my time with your beliefs or hearsay. We want the truth.
1. Do you believe the miracle working power Jesus and the disciples had are present today?
2. Do you know anyone with those powers?
3. Do you know anyone who was dead three days or more and was raised from the dead?
4. Do you know of any mentally retarded person who was healed by the gift of healing?
5. Do you know anyone blind from birth, and a faith healer restored his or her sight?
6. Do you know anyone who could not walk for 40 years, and was restored by a faith healer?
7. Do you know a miracle worker who walks on water?
8. Do you know a miracle worker who feed thousands with a little boy’s lunch?
9. Do you know anyone with ALS that was healed by a faith healer?
10. Do you know anyone who had Alzheimer’s that was healed by a faith healer?

If you have positive answers to the above, please send us their name and address so we may contact them.

If you can’t validate the above, why would you expect us to believe you when you think you have the least important gift of tongues? We don’t!

INVITATION GIMMICKS

Manipulation at the Invitation

By Ken Blue

2 Peter 2:3 “And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.”

There is little that is more disgusting than some of the methods used by evangelist and pastors to get people to walk the aisle, or come to “the altar.” Every psychological trick in the bag has been used at invitation time.

I have seen evangelist talk saved people out of their salvation, and make the believer believe they were never saved, in order to get them to walk the aisle again. They are told if they did not say the proper prayer, exercise real faith, did not accept Jesus as Lord of their life, and did not hold their mouth just right, they were not saved.

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]If the Spirit of God is working, you don’t need manipulative tactics.[/pullquote]

In order to persuade others to come for greater commitment, a series of questions will be asked. Some of those questions go like this, “How many of you want to grow in your faith, if so, raise your hand?” After the hands are raised, the believer will next be told, if he is sincere, come on down to the altar. Another question might be, “How many are struggling with some sin in your life?” Again, all hands will go up, and again the believer is told that victory is at the altar. “Come, and be delivered.” Of course, nothing works like asking, “How many of you would like God to bless your finances?” All, except those who know what is going on, will raise their hands. You know the next step. “Come to the altar, and ask God to bless your finances.”

Don’t misunderstand me. I believe in preaching for results, but I despise being manipulated, or seeing it pulled on others. During my years in the ministry, I have seen evangelist continue the invitation for thirty to forty minutes. I am convinced that the real motive behind most of this is for the ego of the speaker, and not for the souls of men. If the Spirit of God is working, you don’t need manipulative tactics; if He is not, you aren’t getting spiritual results, no matter how it looks. Don’t resist the Spirit of God, and don’t be made merchandise by egotistical evangelist.

BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY

July 8, 2012 by Ken Blue

BY Ken Blue

Reverend Jeremiah Wright attracted the attention of Americans when He said he did not pray for God to bless America, but rather to “damn America.” To add to the concern of many was the fact that President Obama was a member of Jeremiah’s church for at least twenty years. We ask how can two walk together unless they agree?

“Reverend Wright has been a national leader in promoting theological education and the preparation of seminarians for the African-American church. The church’s mission statement is based upon systematized Black liberation theology that started with the works of James Hal Cone.” Wikipedia

James Hal Cone is the architect of Black Liberation Theology. Cone does not build his views of the world and God from Scripture, but rather, his view of social conditions determines how he views God, and what God’s plan and strategy is. “His theology developed further in response to critiques by black women, leading Cone to consider gender issues more prominently and foster the development of womanist theology, and also in dialogue with Marxist analysis and the sociology of knowledge.” Wikipedia: James Hal Cone.

He bases much of his reasoning from the book of Exodus and the oppression of Israel by Egypt. He sees this as a parallel to the black man’s condition in America; as God was the enemy of Egypt, and destroyed it, so He is the enemy of the “white devils” in America, and the system that keeps blacks disenfranchised. Accordingly, his theology was heavily influenced by Malcolm X and the Black Power movement. Martin Luther King, Jr. was also an important influence; Cone describes King as a liberation theologian before the phrase existed.  Jeremiah Wright thinks that the God of the Bible and the god of Islam are the same. He believes the only mission of Jesus was to liberate the oppressed Jews from their oppressors, Rome.

Wright sees the Zionist Jews as the world problem, and the oppressors of the Palestinians. Zionism is the belief in a Jewish state and homeland. Although Wright uses the Bible when it suits his liberation theology, he does not believe the Jews have a right to Jerusalem or the land promised by God throughout the Old Testament.

Wright accuses America of being a government of lies and deception. One wonders, with what kind of government he would replace it. I agree with Rev. Wright that the American Indians, and the blacks were mistreated, and I see no justification for it. However, that part of history is behind us, and the destruction of America today will never rectify it. In addition, Has Reverend Wright overlooked the fact that blacks, Indians and other cultures have practiced slavery for centuries. In fact, Israel possessed slaves throughout their Old Testament history.

Is Wright purposefully ignoring the reign of terror under Idi Amin? Wikipedia Encyclopedia says, “Amin’s rule was characterized by gross human rights abuse, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption, and gross economic mismanagement. The number of people killed as a result of his regime is estimated by international observers and human rights groups to range from 100,000 to 500,000. During his years in power, Amin shifted in allegiance from being a pro-Western ruler enjoying considerable Israeli support to being backed by Libya’s Muammar al-Gaddafi, the Soviet Union and East Germany.” Amin’s government was not only one of the vilest on earth; according to some, he practiced cannibalism on his enemies. However, we never hear one word from Wright or Jessie Jackson about the atrocities in Africa between the black tribes.

All men have wicked hearts, and regardless of their color or the form of government established, that government will never be better than what we have in America. The only government that will be a rule and reign of righteousness is the one that will be established by Jesus Christ when He returns. And, by the way, its headquarters will be in Jerusalem, and its domain, the Abrahamic grand, called Israel.

Liberation Theology is the same old man in a different suit. Its goal is to overthrow America’s government and replace it with another. Take a long look at other countries that have been “liberated.” Castro liberated Cuba. Hitler liberated Germany. The Communist liberated China and Russia. Liberation Theology is a road to a reversed slavery and oppression.

WHERE DOES ANTICHRIST COME FROM?

July 5, 2012 by Ken Blue

In Daniel chapter two we are given the interpretation of the prophetic image seen by Nebuchadnezzar. The four kingdoms represented were Babylon, Medo-Persia, Grecian, and Roman. In Daniel seven the Grecian Empire is seen as a leopard with four wings, and four horns (kings). The wings symbolize the swiftness with which it conquered its enemies. The horns symbolize the four kingdoms that came from the Grecian kingdom after it broke up.

The information becomes clearer in Daniel 8:8-10. When the Grecian Empire was broken, and was divided into four kingdoms: they are Greece, Turkey, Egypt, and Syria. Verse 9 tells us that a “little horn” comes from one of these horns (Kingdoms). See Daniel 11:1-4 for added light.

Chapter 11:35-45 skips forward to the time of the end. Here we see war between the king of the South (Egypt), and the king of the North (Syria). This king of the North is the “little horn,” “the Prince that shall come,” “the son of perdition,” “the man of sin,” and “the beast.” This war is yet in the near future.

The ten toes seen in Daniel two, and the ten horns in 7:20, 24 are ten Kings and kingdoms that will be forged from the disintegrating kingdoms today, in and around the old Roman Empire. These ten constitute the seventh head on the dragon. Revelation 17:11-13 “And the beast that was , and is not , even he is the eighth , and is of the seven , and goeth into perdition . 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet ; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast . 13 These have one mind , and shall give their power and strength unto the beast .”

After the establishment of the seventh kingdom which is the ten horns, the Antichrist takes power from them, and his kingdom becomes the eighth. He is energized by the spirit- Prince of the Grecian Empire. The ten kingdoms, when they are formed, will take in parts of three continents: Europe, Asia, and Africa, and not be ten nations of Europe only.

“We can be certain with the full authority of God’s Word that the Antichrist will come from Syria. He will not come from Greece, Turkey, Egypt, the Vatican, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Poland, England, Scandinavia, China, Japan, India, the United States, or any other part of the world outside of Syria.” –Dakes Notes.

WHY I THANK GOD AND PRAY FOR AMERICA

July 2, 2012 by Ken Blue

Pray for america

pray for america

By Ken Blue

Certainly, I am not proud of what many Americans do, and in many cases some cause us shame, anger, and embarrassment. Nor am I thrilled over the behavior of many of our Baptist brethren. The same could be said about being a Christian. However, I am thankful that I am a Christian. I gladly embrace most of the doctrines of the Baptist churches, and I am glad that I was born and raised in America.

If your family was wayward, would you not pray for them? If sin was in your church, would you pray for your church? Then why in God’s name would you not pray for America to stay God’s judgment on it? I cannot agree with those Baptist who are in step with Jeremiah Wright who says he does not want God to bless America, but rather to “damn America.”

I have had the privilege to visit most countries in this world, and I would not trade America for all of them! America is plagued with great wickedness, but she still has more churches that preach the gospel, more missionaries going to foreign countries, and more Bibles and churches than any other nations. Why wouldn’t the powers of darkness seek her destruction?

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]We should pray for America.[/pullquote]

Should we pray for America? Of course we should. America is not more wicked than Israel is or was, yet Paul prayed that they might be saved (Romans 10:1). A nation is made up of people. To pray for America is to pray for the salvation of the people.

Finally, when we show disrespect for America we dishonor the thousands who have, and are laying down their lives for it. It is because of the grace of God and the sacrifice of others that we have the freedoms we enjoy in this country. I refuse to show ingratitude because of the wicked within the nation.  Rather, let us thank God for a great country where we have freedom of religion, and unlimited opportunities to get the gospel to a lost world. Let us pray for America!
