ONLY ONE

December 8, 2011 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6.

There is one church, to which all the saved belong.
There is one Spirit, who indwells all His own.

There is one hope, that all the redeemed can claim.
There is one Lord, and Jesus Christ is His name.

There is only one faith, it’s described by Paul.
There is only one baptism; it’s shared by all.

There is one God, and Jehovah is His name.
He’s the Father of all, through Whom it all came.

SOME ALL’S

December 5, 2011 by Ken Blue

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:8.

All grace abounds the well’s abundant supply.

Always it is there, and will never run dry.

All sufficiency is for each task at hand.

All things are all the things which He commands.

All work is the work which we are called to do.

His call to all enables all to get through.

A STROLL THROUGH THE GRAVEYARD

December 1, 2011 by Ken Blue

While strolling through a graveyard.
On a cold December day.
I noted these inscriptions,
And what each one had to say.

Some were of little children,
Taken away in their prime.
Others were of a loved one,
Who had left loved ones behind.

One stone caught my attention.
I read it o’er and o’er.
Conviction gripping my soul,
As it never had before.

“Remember me as you pass by.
As you are now, so once was I.
As I am now someday you’ll be.
So prepare for eternity.”

I’ve put it off long enough.
Soon it will be my time go.
I will make sure I’m ready,
The Bible says I can know.

WAITN

November 25, 2011 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

Everybody’s waitn on somebody.
And somebody’s waitn on them.
The husband’s waitn on the wife.
And the wife is waitn on him.

The groom is waitn on the bride.
The bride is waitn on the maids.
The maid’s waitn on the preacher.
The preacher’s waitn to be paid.

The farmer’s waitn on the crop.
The crop is waitn on the rain.
The rain is waitn on the wind,
To bring the waitn clouds again.

Tourists are waitn on the train.
The train’s waitn the engineer.
The engineers waitn the porter.
“All abord!” he’s waitn to hear.

The pastor’s waitn on the people .
The people are waitn on the theme.
The choir is waitn on the leader.
The stranger’s waitn for what it means.

The believer is waitn of Jesus.
Jesus is waitn on the command.
To take all the waitn to heaven.
Where there will be no waitn, Amen!

BROKEN THINGS

November 18, 2011 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

A vase fell from the shelf.
It broke in two.
We restored it,
With some old super glue.

It never looked the same,
Like ‘twas brand-new.
Cracks were still seen,
In spite of super glue.

And then I thought of man.
He’s fallen too.
Fixin’s futile,
With manmade super glue.

Everyone is broken,
Proofs in full view.
We need craftsmen,
Without old super glue

The Potter melts us down,
His work to do.
Molding vessels,
For angelic review.

The process isn’t finished,
With me or you.
It’ll be perfect,
When the Potter’s all through.
