HOW THE SCRIPTURES CAME TO MEN

June 19, 2018 by Ken Blue

HOW MAN RECEIVED THE SCRIPTURE

By Ken Blue

  1. THE SCRIPTURES CONTRASTED AGAINST THE WRITINGS OF THE HEATHEN-
  2. THE VOICE OF GOD FROM THE HOLY MOUNTAIN-
  3. THE SCRIPTURES FROM HOLY MEN-
  4. THE SCRIPTURES CAME BY THE WILL OF GOD, FROM HEAVEN, NOT OF MEN-
  5. THE SCRIPTURES ALONE GIVE TRUE LIGHT-
  6. THE SCRIPTURES ARE NOT THE PRODUCT OF MEN-
  7. THE SCRIPTURES WERE OF MEN WHO WERE MOVED ALONG BY THE HOLY SPIRIT-
  8. THE SCRIPTURES ARE THE ONLY PROTECTION AGAINST DAMNABLE HERESIES-
  9. THE SCRIPTURES EXALT THE PERSON OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST-

“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:16-21. “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.” 2 Peter 2:1-2.

ALL WILL FIND THEIR MATE

May 25, 2016 by Ken Blue

NOT ONE BIBLE PROPHECY WILL LACK THEIR MATE.

mateIsaiah 34:16…… Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

In this video sermon Dr. Blue teaches us how God works through His book, the bible.  He shows us how important reading and living by the Bible is.  Explaining the uniqueness of the Bible, he encourages and admonishes us to keep in this most basic building block of the Christian life.  Not only does it reveal salvation’s plan, but it shows how important it is because it holds specific prophecies that are looking for their fulfillment.

In Isa 34:16 God tells us to: “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read…”.  Dr. Blue explains how amongst all of the false translations, God’s book needs to be sought out. This unfortunate situation exists because the Devil attacks the foundation of Christianity.  This way, he can completely destroy a Christian by making him collapse without a foundation to stand on.  That foundation is the Bible.  Since the Devil cannot be rid of God’s book, he confuses everyone by flooding the market with many alternatives for the Christian to choose from.  Some have subtle differences, while others are vast.  Buying a different bible is not a wickedness, it is an act of ignorance.  The book og the Lord must be sought out.

Modern scholarship tries to tell you that at one time there was a complete bible, but today there is none.  The Bible says that there IS a book that is called the Book of God and God promised to preserve it (Psalms 12:6-7)  Since we believe that God is much stronger than any scholar, we do not let the scholars tell us what the Bible says.  We use the Bible to tell us about the scholars.

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]The major evil in professing Christianity is the neglect of the reading of the Word of God.[/pullquote]

There is a book that is perfect.  Gen 5:1; Deu. 17:18; Psa 40:7  If God reveals his word to us it is most logical to reveal it in a book. People have been taught that all Bibles contain the word of God but this is not true.  Sewers may contain a dime but that doesn’t make it a bank. The Bible was written to be read and many Christians neglect reading it.  The major evil in professing Christianity is the neglect of the reading of the Word of God.  People are not changed without the changing of their minds.  Self help and psychology books will not help.  Reading the Bible is the only thing that will help.  The Greatest Christians who ever lived said that no good thing dwelt in them.

WHAT IS MEANS TO BE A BIBLE BELIEVER

October 23, 2015 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

I believe I can safely say that there has never been a time when I didn’t believe the Bible was God’s Word. I went to Sunday school as a boy where the Bible was taught every Sunday. There was always a Bible on the end table and I witnessed my Grandfather reading it many times. My mother instilled in me faith in the Bible. God bless her memory! However, I am confident she had no idea what a dispensation or biblical age was.

I am not an authority on manual script evidence. I leave that brilliant study to the studious. All I have is the simple faith of my mother. I believe the King James Version is the most accurate version available. I never attempt to correct it, nor do I doubt it. If it were possible to hold the very originals from Genesis to Revelation, there would be no way to prove that they were the originals, and I would be right back to my mother’s simple faith. So, I call myself a Bible believer. I pray that I will be a Bible doer.

There are those out there who insist that if you don’t agree with their interpretation, you are not a Bible believer. However, if one can’t distinguish between believing the Bible is without error, and his interpretation of it, it is not safe for him to read it.

There are many rules of Bible interpretation that must be followed; even then we are not infallible. We must be Bible believers, but let us never assume that our interpretation is the final answer. I know teachers who allegorize everything. Then there are those who make everything literal. Finally, there are those who spiritualize what they choose, and make other parts literal simply to establish a pet doctrine. Conclusion, being a Bible believer does not insure that one is inerrant in his interpretation. Understanding that, may give you some grace toward others.

The Classification of Angels

October 13, 2015 by Ken Blue

Classification of angels by Ken Blue
Dr. Ken Blue

The Classification of Angels

The names of angels are significant.  They give insight into their ministries in association with God’s presence.

In this AUDIO sermon Dr. Blue instructs on the importance of their names and how they affect their different classifications. In Psalms 104:4 they are described as ministers.  In Psalms 148:2 they are called an army (a heavenly host).  These are just a few of the many names assigned to them that affects their numerous classifications.

People have all kind of ideas about angels.  Dr. Blue cautions that the only safe place to learn about these heavenly creatures is in the Bible.  This AUDIO sermon shows, from the Bible, the different classifications, names and jobs of angels. It will better help you to understand them so that you don’t inadvertently find yourself worshipping them instead of their Creator.

If you need help in your study of angels, this sermon will help you in a big way.

“WHAT IS A BAPTIST?”

November 10, 2014 by Ken Blue

“WHAT IS A BAPTIST?”

By Ken Blue

trail of bloodSome time ago, a Pastor ask me “What is a Baptist?” He and I were on Facebook as friends, but after a heated debate over perpetuity, he blocked our friendship. So, my question is, what is a Baptist?

Lutherans follow the teaching of Martin Luther. Methodist follow the teaching of John Wesley. Presbyterians follow the teaching of John Calvin. The Hussites followed John Huss. The Waldensian followed Peter Waldo. And, so it goes.

Now, what are Baptist? Did they become one by following John the Baptist? Some say yes. However, the truth of history and of Scripture will prove that is not the case. From the time of the Apostle Paul, there have always been Gentile believers. Just as there were schisms in his day, so it has been down through history. However, following Paul’s example, those who adhered to his teachings rejected infant baptism, sprinkling, and baptism as any part of the gospel.  Thus, they were at odds with the Roman Catholic Church.

These believers were later call Anabaptist by their enemies. This is not a name they adopted for themselves. (16th century.)  “The name Anabaptist is derived from the Greek term anabaptista, or “one who baptizes over again.” This name was given them by their enemies in reference to the practice of “re-baptizing” converts who “already had been baptized” as infants.[6] They required that baptismal candidates be able to make their own confessions of faith and so rejected baptism of infants.” (Wikipedia Encyclopedia.)  Since it was sprinkling, it was not baptism at all.

Later, the “Ana” was dropped, and they became known as baptizers, and Baptist. According to the above encyclopedia, “John Smyth (c. 1570 – c. 28 August 1612) was an early Baptist minister of England and a defender of the principle of religious liberty… Smyth was ordained as an Anglican priest in 1594 in England. He preached in the city of Lincoln in 1600 to 1602. Soon after his ordination, he broke with the Church of England and left for Holland where he and his small congregation began to study the Bible ardently. He briefly returned to England.” Thus, prior to these events, no one ever claimed to be Baptist, nor took the name.

There are some Baptist who preach succession back to John the Baptist. This runs parallel with the Catholics Apostolic succession, although most Baptist deny this. If one follows the trail of blood, he would go back to Cain and Abel. A history of believers who have been martyred in no way leads one back to John. Why not to Paul? He was martyred also. Neither Paul, James, or Stephen shed their blood over baptism.

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Baptist Churches have nothing to do with John the Baptist.[/pullquote]

Therefore, Baptist Churches have nothing to do with John the Baptist, or baptizer. John did not come to Israel to start a church. His only ministry was to get Israel to repent, and be baptized as a picture of their repentance and cleansing of their sins, and to make Christ known to Israel. Baptism was part of John’s salvation message for Israel. John did not preach the same gospel that the church preaches today. He did not know Jesus, Israel’s Messiah, had to die on the cross and be raised on the third day. Neither did anyone else. “Then he (Jesus) took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:  And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.  And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.” Luke 18:31-34. “For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.” John 20:9. No one follows John, nor can they.

So, the question should not be, what is a Baptist. The fact that there are hundreds of Baptist Churches who do not agree on many issues, the question should be about salvation, and does my Baptist Church believe the Bible, and rightly divide it? That is the most important issue.
