THE FINAL CHAPTER # XIII

THE FINAL CHAPTER FOR ALCOHOLICS

 CHAPTER XIII

     drunks

By Ken Blue

“Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? 30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. 32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. 33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. 34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. 35 They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.” Proverbs 23:29-35.

This article originally had twelve chapters, but I discarded them. They explained how the drunk arrived at chapter thirteenth. I concluded, if a man or woman has reached this place in their appetite for liquor, other chapters will be of no interest or value to them. Therefore, we excluded them.

We find six rhetorical questions in verse 29. The answer to each one is obvious. Grief, sorrow, arguments, incoherence, physical abuse, and bloodshot eyes are just part of the payback of strong drink

I guess we are supposed to have reached a point of social maturity when we believe we can tell by the color, and age of the brew, its quality, and desirability. A serpent my add beauty with the addition of rings and raddles, but its bite may be more deadly. The age, color, and quality of the brew in the goblet, will protect no one from its bite of death.

When one follows the Bible references to alcohol, it will be seen that nudity, and immorality are the usual outcome in every passage. Men get women drunk, to break down their inhibitions in order get them to take off their clothes. Women drink to deaden any traces of guilt, and shame, if they have any. Regardless of motive, alcohol is the greatest contributor to infidelity, divorce, physical abuse, death, child neglect, and sexual abuse.

Relationships begin to erode first in the family; the drunk will soon discover that he cannot function well with fellow worker, or his employer. Predictably, the next to go will be his employment. There will be a place for him on the street with others who thought they could outsmart the Devil.

Sickness, vomit, and stench are just a few of the blessings of the drunk. Not only does one lose ability to walk, and stand, all logic, and common sense are also gone. How do we know that? We know by the stupidity in their response. “…when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.”

Many people think the drunk is funny; those who live with them do not.

WHY ATHEIST HATE THE BIBLE-#1

January 3, 2013 by Ken Blue

atheist

ByKen Blue

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Psalm 53:1-3 .

Over the years I have tried to be charitable, and give the atheist the benefit of a doubt. I assumed there surely must be one that was honest, rational, and objective. However, I was wrong. God’s description, I’ve discovered fits them perfectly. I am not surprised, for who knows their heart better than God does? You may find an honest agnostic. He is not quite so arrogant, or filled with pride. He has enough common sense to admit, there might be a God that he knows nothing about. But it is completely different with the atheist. You will not find one honest atheist, in a thousand. Agnostics come it two different categories, the honest and the dishonest. Atheist, however, are all in their own little category of fools.

I have had several email debates with atheist, and I have found that they are not only as God describes them, they are dumber than a sack of rocks. I say that with charity. If you doubt what I say, just give them a little time to defend their belief, and witness the fangs come out. Of course, they attempt to derail you by saying, “We don’t believe in God, therefore we have nothing to prove.” Put that stupid response in the sack with the other rocks.

The next few articles will contain a recent exchange of emails, where I challenged an atheist to defend his claims. You will see why God calls them “fools.” You will discover also that he will not address one challenge I gave him. He could not.

Having read much of the article on the atheist home page, I assumed Jeff (not his real name) and I would have a civil debate. You will see that it didn’t take long for the tide to turn.

•Jeff, let me say first of all, I appreciate your sincere, and straight forward attempt to be fair in your article. I mean that. I have been a Bible believing Christian for about 55 years. So, I am too old to change, and too dumb to care. I am well aware that most things in the Bible are outside the realm of our reasoning. The only way to make sense of those things, outside human reasoning, is to believe in a God who is outside that little box we think contains all rational, and what is reasonable.
•Now, having said that, atheists must also rely on human reasoning and a lot of faith as well. You said, “It is logically impossible that such a God could exist.” I say, that is true, if you confine God to your own small world of logic. I am sure you don’t think your logic is infallible. You also said, “Others are atheists through skepticism, because they see no evidence that God exists.” Just because you don’t see the evidence, does that mean none exists? Please don’t play the game, “We don’t believe, therefore we have nothing to prove.” Oh, yes you do. You may not accept the evidence, because you don’t believe it, but that is not proof that it does not exist.

My next post will list the ridiculous reasons atheist hate the Bible. Some of the major reasons the atheists hate the Bible is because it teaches that they are condemned, and accountable to a higher power that Power will judge them. Fear will not let them believe. Pride will not let them believe, and their ignorance keeps them from being able to receive or believe.

Also, if you have not seen the documentary by Ben Stine questioning the world’s leading atheist, you must do so right away. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5EPymcWp-g.

HOW THE WORLD WILL END

December 31, 2012 by Ken Blue

EARTH BURNING

By Ken Blue

Let me say first of all that I am not a prophet, nor is this matter derived outside the Holy Scriptures. Neither am I a date sitter. No one knows when this world will be destroyed. If I understand Scripture, the end is not for another thousand years. So, you can relax for a minute and catch your breath. “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.” Revelation 20:1-3. I will not post the entire chapter, but for anyone who cares to look it up, he will discover that the thousand years is mentioned six times in these verses. There is no reason to refuse to take this as a literal thousand years. Again, I say relax.

There have been two different floods that destroyed the earth. One was the pre-Adamac earth. It happened in the dateless past. The other was Noah’s flood. God has promised that the earth will never again be completely destroyed by a flood. Most scientists are confident that this earth will be destroyed, and it will not be by water, but by fire.

Simon Peter tells how the world will end. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” 2 Peter 3:10. Also, “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:12. Very few peoples question the likelihood or the possibility that it will end in flames. They may not believe that God has anything to do with it, but most agree with Peter that it will burn.

Paul also agrees with Peter. “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:” 2 Thessalonians 1:8. Lastly, John speaks of this fire in the Revelation. “And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.” Revelation 20:9.

We know from Scripture that the earth will be destroyed by fire. This is not in any was contrary to the facts of science.  How God will accomplish that is of little concern. He created it with a word; He can destroy it as easily. “For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29.

WHY GOOD PEOPLE SUFFER

December 29, 2012 by Ken Blue

suffering

By Ken Blue

  • We have inherited a death sentence

One fact we all must face is that we will die. Death came as a result of Adam and Eve disobeying God’s clear warning and command. Just as your children will inherit the death principle from you, you and I have inherited it from our parents. Likewise, the natural laws of the earth have been affected. There is no escaping death. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We live in bodies that are mortal and susceptible to disease and pain

The law of physical death was set in motion by our first parents. Thus our immune system was altered, and we become vulnerable to many diseases. This may range from the common cold to the AIDS virus. As the immune system weakens, we experience sickness more often and perhaps more serious. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may be the victim of the wickedness of others.

Many times we become the victims of the wickedness and cruelty of others. This needs no explaining. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because of the mistakes of others.

Not all suffering results from wickedness. People, and time are careless or use poor judgment, and accidents happen. One may be killed, or suffer injuries that last a lifetime. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may mistreat our bodies and minds with what is put in them.

There are laws of nature, when those are violated, negative things happen. For example, your body was created to require water to survive. If you drink gasoline, you will die. Your lungs were not created to have smoke in them. Your circulatory system was not intended to have drugs, alcohol, or foreign objects in it. Likewise, there are laws that govern the mind. Any violation of those laws leads to a distorted and damaged mind. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because we violate the laws of nature, God, and man.

Many people are dead or damaged because they ignored the laws of nature. The law of gravity can bring you to your death. Violate the laws of government, and you end up dead or in prison. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer that we might be a testimony to others that God’s grace is sufficient.

Suffering is our opportunity to discover, and prove that the grace of God is sufficient in every circumstance. This sends a powerful message to others who may be suffering.  This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer to prove to Satan and the angels that God is good, just, wise, and righteous, and we      serve Him because of that.

We know from the book of Job that Satan and the angels observe the children of men. Satan assumes that the only reason you live for God is His physical blessings on your life. God may allow all to be taken away to prove that your love, and faith is based on His wisdom, goodness, justice, and mercy. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because of our faith in the Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the God of the Bible.  We must understand that there are those who hate God, the Bible, and all who live for Him. Millions have suffered  and died because of their faith in Christ. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because we have freedom of will. This may be the most important, yet most      misunderstood principle of all. God created man will a free will. He could choose good or evil. He chose to disobey. You also have a free will. If you want to get in your car and go down the street at 100 miles per hour,  you can. However, at the intersection, you may broadside a car, killing five innocent people. Now, would you like for God to put restraints on you so you can’t make a choice to speed? I don’t think so. To not have a choice, removes all meaning to life. You must be able to choose love or hate. If not, love has no meaning. Most all suffering is the result of someone exercising their free will. That includes you and me. That is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer to test the faith of others. When we watch others suffer, we may be prompted to blame      God, or ask why. Your suffering may be used of God to test the reality of another’s faith. That is one reason we suffer.

  • We suffer because we care for others. We suffer when we see those we love suffer and die. We grieve      for our loss. This is normal and expected. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer to bring others to Christ. We may be beaten, imprisoned, or killed for witnessing and preaching to others. If that is God’s will for us, so be it. He died for us, let us live and die for Him. Thais is one reason we suffer.

THE INSIDIOUS PLOT THROUGH FALSE PROPHETS

December 24, 2012 by Ken Blue

THE INSIDIOUS PLOT THROUGH FALSE PROPHETS

By Ken Blue
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:11.

False prophets have been around as long as the true prophets have. False prophecies range from where the stars are positioned, to the reading of animal entrails. There are those who throw sticks and bones, and those who claim to read the palm of your hand. One, that is perhaps the oldest, and is still with us today, is the horoscope. Millions read it daily, and believe they have an appointed sign by the arrangement of the stars, on the day they were born. Nighty-nine percent of those who observe the Zodiac have no idea the real purpose of its origin. Many false prophets also distort, and handle the Bible deceitfully to deceive their followers. Two recent examples of this are Jim Jones and Harold Camping. Both used the Bible. You can expect more as we approach the end times.

I read where someone opened a fortune cookie, and it said, “The meat wasn’t chicken.” That is not good fortune.
I am reminded of the story about a young boy in a small peaceful village. The village had many sheep, and there was a little boy appointed to watch over them, and cry “wolf,” if a wolf should show up. George, the shepherd boy, thought it would be fun to see all the villagers run to the rescue of the sheep, so he cried, “wolf!” To his delight, they all came running with farming tools to kill the wolf, but there was no wolf. George rolled on the ground laughing at them. They were not amused.
A few days later, George pulled the same stunt, and the town’s people reacted as before, but with more anger. Again, George could not contain his laughter. However, about two days later a pack of wolves showed up and began killing the sheep. George cried “wolf” as loud as he could, but no one came. To them, it was just another silly joke. George and the sheep were devoured.
Once people have heard, and witnessed enough false prophets, they become cynical and jaded. It becomes virtually impossible to get them to believe that real wolves exist. The Bible message is ignored. That is what happened in the days of Enoch, just prior to the flood, and is happening now. The truth is, those who are crying wolf are the wolves. It has worked for Satan down through the centuries, and it is working again.
The only defense against error is the Truth. The best advice I can give you to protect yourself, and know the truth, is for you to purchase a King James Bible and start reading at the Gospel of John. Don’t digress. Read the whole New Testament. Pray and ask God to open your eyes to understand His Word. He will do it for YOU. Don’t let someone talk you into purchasing any other Bible.
The wolves are out there. Many are in sheep’s clothing, and they are searching for you. Don’t let the false teachers, and false prophets keep you from discovering the Truth. Your eternal soul depends on it. If I can be of help, contact me at [email protected]
