POETRY WITH A POINT

November 26, 2014 by Ken Blue

This is my most recent book of poetry. It has 156 pages. It is filled with poems of laughter, of sadness, and sarcasms. I believe you will find many that will be a help and an encouragement to you. It can be ordered from the Open Door Bookstore. [email protected].
Pastor Kennedy says, “In this new book Pastor Blue shows his ability to communicate spiritual truths through the medium of verse. The reader will find great enjoyment with every turn of the page as each poem offers something different; from humor to reflective thought, insight on life and death and even judgment to come. The value of this new work is reflected in its title, for it is truly poetry with a point.”

LIFE’S VANITY

soap bubble

By Ken Blue

Vanity of vanities, all seems to me.

That which today is, tomorrow will not be.

Everything that’s seen, is all temporal.

And God’s chief creation, is ephemeral.

Change and decay, befalls all I can see.

Oh vanity, what can the purpose be?

Friends and loved ones, like vapors, are soon gone.

Those who remain, thus, find themselves alone.

There must be a purpose, but purpose, goes unseen.

While misery, war, and disease, obscure all between.

Revelation is the answer to this mystery.

The Sacred page removes the veil for you and me.

One man’s disobedience, brought death to everything.

One man’s obedience, unto death, a death blow brings.

Satan, the unseen fiend, now god of this whole earth,

And will not be banished, `till Christ removes the curse.

Angels and men, created with wills that are free.

And free will extends still, to all humanity.

War, misery, and disease are here as men choose.

Yet man would not be man, if free will he should loose.

Freewill to choose, Love paid the price for sin.

Freely, you may choose, to having peace within.

Satan will be banished, earth restored in Gods time.

Though all still be vanity, let Christ rule your mind.

God will not compel; we choose or we deny.

Love and obedience, alone justify.

Heaven or hell’s the choice; freely they must be.

Jesus is the choice that dispels vanity.

NO NOT ONE

February 25, 2014 by Ken Blue

no not one

By Ken Blue

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:10.

(Enjoy the song)

https://kenblueministries.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Are-You-Afraid-To-Die.mp3

I searched the world for one, who did understand,

Or, with his heart sought God, and found not a man.

Paths of righteousness they left, for their own way.

All remain unprofitable until this very day.

Mouths are open sepulchers; tongues filled with deceit.

Venom, under their lips, and hatred of a white-hot heat.

Hellbent on destruction, and misery in their ways.

Paths of peace unknown, no fear of God doth faze.

Hearts without understanding, mouths with cursing filled.

Feet swift to shed blood, no fear of God revealed.

Unprofitable, are they all, the righteous, I find none.

This is man’s condition, none good, no not one.

Every mouth will stop, they’re all guilty before God

Unless grace intervenes, a hopeless path they trod

There’s righteousness provided, freely through His Son

And those who come to Him, He rejects, no, not one

THE FALLEN ROSE

Listen to the song:

By Ken Blue
At the garden many were constrained to pause.
By the path a flower grew, which was the cause.
Amid bright colors the garden did compose,
More beautiful than all, a blushing red Rose.

Gladdened each day, by the early morning’s dew.
Some observing my birth; watched me as I grew.
Others touched the petals, causing luster to fade.
Tarnishing the purpose for which I was made.

The luster that should increase, as each one grows,
Faded each day, the reason, I’d not disclose.
Loving attention, peddles fell one by one.
Before I knew, the bright hue, from me was gone.

Some ask, where’s the rose, the garden so adorned?
The trampled ground, shows only a crushed thorn. `
God made the roses, gardens to beautify.
But, when passed hand to hand, roses wilt and die.

THE WOMAN AT JACOBS WELL

February 8, 2014 by Ken Blue

(Listen to the song)https://kenblueministries.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Jim-Reeves-Oh-Gentle-Shepherd-www_flvto_com.mp3

By Ken Blue

Her reputation of ill repute was known in the town.

That was why, at Jacob’s well, each day at noon she was found.

No one would be there; at least no one who would or could tell.

To her surprise, when she arrived, a stranger was at the well.

She quietly ignored Him, drawing water, to go her way.

But as she sat her pitcher down, she heard Him gently say,

“Woman, give Me a drink; from the well Jacob’s sons did keep.

She said, “You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep.”

“The well’s depth is not a problem, for all those who know Me.”

You could ask for living water; it would be given thee.”

“Sir, give me this water, that I need never draw, nor thirst.”

He said to her, “Call thy husband, and bring him to Me first.”

She looked away, reluctant to say, “Husband, have I none.”

“You have had five husbands, nor is legal your present one.”

“Sir, you must be a prophet, to know about me these things.”

“I know the Messiah is coming, salvation He brings.”

“We worship in this mountain, you, Jerusalem, that’s clear.”

“All those who worship God in spirit and truth, He will hear.”

She left there her water pot, and returned, others to tell.

Believing her words, they followed her back to Jacob’s well.

By providence, many were saved; so, we can never tell.

Could be, Zacchaeus in a tree, or someone at a well.

“The fields are now white unto harvest; so lift up your eyes.”

“He that reaps receives wages, and he that wins souls is wise.”
