GET OUT OF EGYPT

 With Egypt left behind,

And removed from the mind.

If  in your heart you yearn,

In time you will return.

 

The Word your mind can cleanse,

From Egypt’s depraved sins.

That world you must let go,

If  His love you would know.

 

Our journey is by faith.

In patience we do wait.

We  cast a wishful eye,

Where our possessions lie.

WHAT WILL IT MATTER

Mark 8:36  “For what shall it profit a man,

if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

 

What will it matter how much money you’ve made,

Or the number of your immoral escapades,

Or the titles bestowed, or the accolades,

When you’ve nothing at Jesus’ feet to be laid?

 

What will it matter, if you have reached the top,

If you are the foreman, or you own the shop,

Or your fields, they bring forth a first prize cash crop,

And you have nothing but remorseful teardrops?

 

What will it mater, if you have a large home,

With a heated pool, and tall vaulted dome,

If your wife and your children, they have all gone,

And you have nothing; you are left all alone?

 

What will it matter if, you haven’t a clue,

Of the talents accounting and interest due,

When God opens the Books and He searches through,

And with eyes ablaze, says, “I never knew you”?

 

 

 

JOY COMES IN THE MORNING

Psalms 30:5

 Creation is under a curse; creatures all are groaning.

Lazarus lies neath the stone, his love ones, all are moaning.

The Apostle is left for dead, at Lystra’s stoning.

Mary watches Jesus die; for sin He was atoning.

With feet on land and sea, and with proclamation owning.

We await our coming King, His regal robes adorning.

Weeping may endure a night, but joy comes in the morning.

LITTLE SPARROW

Little Sparrow, did you know,

The Father used you to show His love.

You reap not, nor gather into barns,

Yet you’re fed from a storehouse above.

 

You are seen, where’er you are,

Whether on the wing, or on the ground.

You’re never far from our Father’s sight.

His care for you; it always abounds.

 

You may take no thought of these.

It was not written for you to read.

God is teaching us not to worry.

“I care for Sparrows; I’ll meet your need.”

 

Little Sparrow I have read,

And I see clearly, and understand.

God’s the One who feeds the sparrows,

And all our blessings are from His hand.

How much pain can a heart take?

How much weight before it breaks?

 

Our Lord’s grief was unto death.

As drops of blood, He did sweat.

 

A giant was killed with a stone;

A  King, crushed by Absalom.

 

Life unraveled, is the goal;

Broken clay, to remold.

 

A contrite heart, in His eyes,

Is the end, and final prize.
