THE MIRACLE ON 45AVE.

August 14, 2017 by Ken Blue

miracleBy Ken Blue

Unobserved, and of no interest to those who never knew, That eternal business was discussed on Forty-Fourth Avenue.

A little band that prayed for land, the year of seventy-two, Gave God a reason, it was the season to trust and to do.

The owners replied, and we complied, with witnesses: two. What began continues the plan, on Forty-Fourth Avenue.

Sacrifice, a will to work, visions Satan could not subdue; The little band that stood on the land, into the hundreds grew.

Every Sunday, from far and near, visitors come two by two. At invitation time, you will find sinners in line waiting to say, “I do”.

Hundreds surrendered to serve at home, and some across the blue. The question is, would you respond, “Here I am”, if He called you?

Miracles persist at Open Door, as we stay faithful and true. Windows of heaven remain open, on Forty-Fourth Avenue.

WHEN A FOX TURNS OUT TO BE A PIG

June 22, 2017 by Ken Blue

“As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is witout discretion.” Proverbs 11:22.
By Ken Blue
I saw her on the boardwalk, as she was standing there.
Men turned their heads to look, I couldn’t help but stare.
She was dressed to the max, in some frilly exotic thing.
Her eyes were ebony, black hair as a raven’s wing.
Jewels graced her neck and rings her hands and toes.
But most striking was the jewel that beautified her nose.
Then I became aware that I appeared hypnotized.
As I could tell she too was responding to my eyes.
With her subtle invitation, I walked to where she stood.
I sought for a pickup line, I’d better make it good.
I thought she was a fox – until her first verbal phrase.
Looks sure are deceiving if all you do is gaze.
She ask if I had a #@%! cigarette, I said, I don’t smoke.
She ask if I had a #@%! drink of whiskey and I said, nope.
Are you a @#% ! Sunday school boy. I said, yeah, that’s my deal.
She spewed out more profanity, and like a pig did squeal.
It may be hard to tell if you’re looking at a pig or a fox.
Don’t be deceived by the painted eyes or the gorgeous shiny locks.
Just wait till she opens her mouth and you’ll soon get the gig.
You’ll know for sure if she’s a fox, or just a dolled up pig.

HEARTS OF LONELINESS

HEARTS OF LONELINESS

By Ken Blue

Loneliness is a heartache that break deep inside,

And only those who have it, fight its vicious tide.

It cannot be described, it’s a feeling we all hide.

Loneliness is a heartache, the lonely must abide.

Loneliness is despair, a night without an end.

Tears are not seen, for they are deep within.

Loneliness is to feel alone, alone without one friend.

Loneliness is a cloud that on the soul descends.

Loneliness is like death, a death to the soul.

The only cure is Jesus, and what we are told.

He said “I’ll never leave thee, even when you’re old.”

So trust Him and His Word, and watch the light unfold.

MONKEYS WHO SAVED THEIR TAILS

March 28, 2016 by Ken Blue

Two monkeys sat in a coconut tree,
Looking on the mass of humanity.
“Some say man descended from you and me.
We consider and ask, how can this be?

Tails have dropped off, there’s no swinging around,
Speaking in words is such a strange sound,
Destined are they, to inhabit the ground.
While evolving upward, they descended down.

Losing their hair, and we don’t know why.
Discovering their nakedness, some were shy.
Covering their shame, something had to die.
And that became the fashion bye and bye.

No longer using clubs to fight in war,
Hand to hand combat seldom evens the score.
With the push of a button, they now kill more,
While sitting in a chair, as the drones soar.

Yes, it is clear, sitting up in this tree.
Evolution’s the end of humanity.
We are so thankful, though monkeys we be,
We’ve saved our tails, from inevitability.”

SHE LEFT ME TODAY

December 6, 2015 by Ken Blue

She Left Me

BY Ken Blue

It started with a Bible study in the neighborhood

She asked if she should go, I agreed that it would be good

It would give me added quiet time; something craved by all men

Now I could watch “American Idol,” and old “CNN”

After a few weeks, I noticed that she began to change

Her behavior, and her moods, was becoming very strange

I did some detective work to find out just what I can

And I discovered, as I supposed, it was another man

I confronted her, and I told her it must end today

She assured me that if I didn’t change, she’d be leaving anyway

She would read his letters; she talked to him in a soft tone

Jesus came today, she went away, now I am left alone
