The number one purpose of Jesus

October 15, 2015 by Ken Blue

The number one purpose of JesusJesus came to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).  His mission is to find His lost sheep and carry them back into the fold.  He wanted to get people to see others who were lost and work on bringing them into the fold.

Through parables He teaches this great doctrine and many do not understand.  They blindly go through life living the “religious” experience enjoying what God can do for them rather than what they can do for God and others.  They are like modern day pharisees. The Pharisees sought self promotion rather than the souls of men.  They didn’t care about sinners.  The truth of the matter is that they were motivated by the praise of men rather than the exaltation of God.

Jesus was not like this.  Neither did He teach that any of His disciples be like this.  He taught something very different from this.  In fact, the number one purpose of Jesus was winning the lost.  He did not seek personal exaltation.  He cared for lost souls.

This AUDIO sermon will help you gain valuable knowledge on this subject: WHAT WAS JESUS’ #1 PURPOSE

All believers are to be witness for Christ. Many fail in this aspect of their Christian life because they are not equipped with the right bait. Jesus said we would be fishers of men if we followed Him. What bait do we need in order to become effective fishers of men? This book answers that question and provides everything the believer needs to become an effective witness for Jesus Christ. an excerpt:

I was born in the backwoods of Arkansas, not far from the small town of Boswell. As a boy, my mother and I lived part of that time on a farm with my uncle, Troy Craig. Uncle Troy had several milk cows, which he milked each day by hand. I remember that he would sit on an old three-legged stool, which he carved out by hand. That three-legged stool was an important part of his milking equipment. A one-legged stool was impractical. It required too much effort to balance ones self. A four-legged stool was unnecessary and impartial. That three-legged stool was perfect for the task at hand.

The ministry of the local church is somewhat like that old three-legged stool. A churches duty can be reduced to three simple, yet vital categories. These three are: Evangelism, Discipleship, and Service. The total responsibility of the church can be summed up in reaching the lost, indoctrinating the saints, and enlisting them in God’s service. We dare not attempt to do the work of God with an one-legged stool. We cannot confine our activities to just one ministry.

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]The ministry of the local church is like an old three-legged stool: Evangelism, Discipleship, and Service.[/pullquote]

Some churches have attempted to do that, and have met with failure. On the other hand, a church may attempt things in which it should not be involved. They are impractical, expensive and unnecessary. This Fisherman’s Guide is designed to accomplish the “first leg” of the local church’s ministry- the ministry of reaching of the lost for Christ. We acknowledge that it is only one leg. Nevertheless, without it, the other two are not necessary or possible. My hope is that this little “guide” will motivate and assist you in reaching others for the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no greater service or joy than that of winning men and women to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. So, let’s go fishing!

BOOK: Islam vs. Christianity

June 19, 2015 by Ken Blue

Islam and Christianity

Islam and Christianity: Are they similar?

Dr. Blue is “right on” about Islam and Christianity.  He digests the information that he has spent a lifetime accumulating, and presents it in an “easy to read” and informative fashion.

The advocates of Islam would have the unsuspecting world believe that It and Christianity are just about the same.  In this way, Islam is drawing in millions of people today.  Islam and Christianity are actually opposed to each other, with Islam often taking a violent position against this world’s followers of Christ.

Every unsuspecting soul should read this book before giving in to the ways of Islam.  Young Christians certainly should read this book so they can see the way that Islam is infiltrating the ranks of the church by leading them away.  The information in this book should be taught in every school that is serious about teaching objectivity.  In fact, a copy of this book should be in every home today.

In this book, Dr. Blue presents a comprehensive comparison and refutation of the supposed similarities between Islam and Christianity. In one reader’s words this book: “…reveals the true roots of the acts of aggression and hostility being perpetrated by the adherents to Islamic ‘truth’.”

BOOK: Galatians: Discovering Your Freedom in Christ

June 5, 2015 by Ken Blue

Galatians
Galatians: Discovering Your Freedom in Christ

This commentary on Galatians shows the uniqueness of Paul’s Apostleship and his gospel. Dr. Blue proves that salvation could never be attained by the works of the Law, and that men were declared righteous by faith long before there was a Jewish nation, the Law or the temple.

The book of Galatians is the most helpful book in the Bible concerning the freeness of our salvation and our liberty in Christ. Every religion on earth, except Biblical Christianity, teaches that works are necessary for eternal life. Galatians was written to correct that very error. Dr. Ken Blue shows from Paul’s letter that salvation was a free gift hundreds of years before there ever was a Jewish nation or the Ten Commandments. The reader will see that all believers are free from the Law and are to walk in the perfect law of liberty in Christ.

The Law was given to reveal the true condition of the human heart. It was not given as a means of salvation. When Jesus Christ died, the Law was nailed to the cross with Him and its demands were fulfilled. All who accept the death; burial and resurrection of Christ for their sins are forever delivered from the curse of the Law and are made FREE in Christ. Paul admonishes the Galatians and all believers to “stand fast” in that liberty and not return to the bondage of the Law.
Every believer should read this book; especially new Christians!
