WHY GOOD PEOPLE SUFFER

suffering

By Ken Blue

  • We have inherited a death sentence

One fact we all must face is that we will die. Death came as a result of Adam and Eve disobeying God’s clear warning and command. Just as your children will inherit the death principle from you, you and I have inherited it from our parents. Likewise, the natural laws of the earth have been affected. There is no escaping death. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We live in bodies that are mortal and susceptible to disease and pain

The law of physical death was set in motion by our first parents. Thus our immune system was altered, and we become vulnerable to many diseases. This may range from the common cold to the AIDS virus. As the immune system weakens, we experience sickness more often and perhaps more serious. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may be the victim of the wickedness of others.

Many times we become the victims of the wickedness and cruelty of others. This needs no explaining. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because of the mistakes of others.

Not all suffering results from wickedness. People, and time are careless or use poor judgment, and accidents happen. One may be killed, or suffer injuries that last a lifetime. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may mistreat our bodies and minds with what is put in them.

There are laws of nature, when those are violated, negative things happen. For example, your body was created to require water to survive. If you drink gasoline, you will die. Your lungs were not created to have smoke in them. Your circulatory system was not intended to have drugs, alcohol, or foreign objects in it. Likewise, there are laws that govern the mind. Any violation of those laws leads to a distorted and damaged mind. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because we violate the laws of nature, God, and man.

Many people are dead or damaged because they ignored the laws of nature. The law of gravity can bring you to your death. Violate the laws of government, and you end up dead or in prison. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer that we might be a testimony to others that God’s grace is sufficient.

Suffering is our opportunity to discover, and prove that the grace of God is sufficient in every circumstance. This sends a powerful message to others who may be suffering.  This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer to prove to Satan and the angels that God is good, just, wise, and righteous, and we      serve Him because of that.

We know from the book of Job that Satan and the angels observe the children of men. Satan assumes that the only reason you live for God is His physical blessings on your life. God may allow all to be taken away to prove that your love, and faith is based on His wisdom, goodness, justice, and mercy. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because of our faith in the Bible, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the God of the Bible.  We must understand that there are those who hate God, the Bible, and all who live for Him. Millions have suffered  and died because of their faith in Christ. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer because we have freedom of will. This may be the most important, yet most      misunderstood principle of all. God created man will a free will. He could choose good or evil. He chose to disobey. You also have a free will. If you want to get in your car and go down the street at 100 miles per hour,  you can. However, at the intersection, you may broadside a car, killing five innocent people. Now, would you like for God to put restraints on you so you can’t make a choice to speed? I don’t think so. To not have a choice, removes all meaning to life. You must be able to choose love or hate. If not, love has no meaning. Most all suffering is the result of someone exercising their free will. That includes you and me. That is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer to test the faith of others. When we watch others suffer, we may be prompted to blame      God, or ask why. Your suffering may be used of God to test the reality of another’s faith. That is one reason we suffer.

  • We suffer because we care for others. We suffer when we see those we love suffer and die. We grieve      for our loss. This is normal and expected. This is one reason we suffer.

  • We may suffer to bring others to Christ. We may be beaten, imprisoned, or killed for witnessing and preaching to others. If that is God’s will for us, so be it. He died for us, let us live and die for Him. Thais is one reason we suffer.

THE INSIDIOUS PLOT THROUGH FALSE PROPHETS

THE INSIDIOUS PLOT THROUGH FALSE PROPHETS

By Ken Blue
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” Matthew 24:11.

False prophets have been around as long as the true prophets have. False prophecies range from where the stars are positioned, to the reading of animal entrails. There are those who throw sticks and bones, and those who claim to read the palm of your hand. One, that is perhaps the oldest, and is still with us today, is the horoscope. Millions read it daily, and believe they have an appointed sign by the arrangement of the stars, on the day they were born. Nighty-nine percent of those who observe the Zodiac have no idea the real purpose of its origin. Many false prophets also distort, and handle the Bible deceitfully to deceive their followers. Two recent examples of this are Jim Jones and Harold Camping. Both used the Bible. You can expect more as we approach the end times.

I read where someone opened a fortune cookie, and it said, “The meat wasn’t chicken.” That is not good fortune.
I am reminded of the story about a young boy in a small peaceful village. The village had many sheep, and there was a little boy appointed to watch over them, and cry “wolf,” if a wolf should show up. George, the shepherd boy, thought it would be fun to see all the villagers run to the rescue of the sheep, so he cried, “wolf!” To his delight, they all came running with farming tools to kill the wolf, but there was no wolf. George rolled on the ground laughing at them. They were not amused.
A few days later, George pulled the same stunt, and the town’s people reacted as before, but with more anger. Again, George could not contain his laughter. However, about two days later a pack of wolves showed up and began killing the sheep. George cried “wolf” as loud as he could, but no one came. To them, it was just another silly joke. George and the sheep were devoured.
Once people have heard, and witnessed enough false prophets, they become cynical and jaded. It becomes virtually impossible to get them to believe that real wolves exist. The Bible message is ignored. That is what happened in the days of Enoch, just prior to the flood, and is happening now. The truth is, those who are crying wolf are the wolves. It has worked for Satan down through the centuries, and it is working again.
The only defense against error is the Truth. The best advice I can give you to protect yourself, and know the truth, is for you to purchase a King James Bible and start reading at the Gospel of John. Don’t digress. Read the whole New Testament. Pray and ask God to open your eyes to understand His Word. He will do it for YOU. Don’t let someone talk you into purchasing any other Bible.
The wolves are out there. Many are in sheep’s clothing, and they are searching for you. Don’t let the false teachers, and false prophets keep you from discovering the Truth. Your eternal soul depends on it. If I can be of help, contact me at [email protected]

RESPECTABILITY

December 21, 2012 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“He taketh the wise in their own craftiness…” Job 5:13

(By the grace of God, this is not my story. Sadly, it is the story of many)

There are some things I did, no one knew but me.

I kept my secret, and respectability.

I’d smoke in private; no one would ever see.

Now I have a lung disease; it’s called COPD.

My body is mine; I’ll do as I well please.

I drink now and then, nursing liver disease. 1 1

No one’s seen the track marks underneath my sleeve.

Getting high now and then, no one would believe.

Countless trips to rehab, free I cannot be.

I’ve kept my secret, and respectability.

She said she was pregnant, but no one could see.

Abort the fetus; no wiser will they be.

I’ve a nasty cold; it won’t let go of me.

My doctor informs me, that I have HIV.

But by craftiness, no one did ever see.

I fooled all, and maintained respectability.

THE STONE THAT BECAME A MOUNTAIN

December 17, 2012 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. 35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.” Daniel 2:34-35.

Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, was shown a great image in a vision. Daniel explains that God was showing the king the course of Gentile history, and that God would establish His own kingdom in His on time and own way. The book of Revelation gives added details.

We have written articles on the ten toes and ten horns. Each of these represents ten Gentile nations in an alliance surrounding Israel. You will notice that the stone cut out without hands, hits the gentile image in the feet. This assures us that the Second Advent of Christ will not happen until these ten nations are in place and ruled by Antichrist. These events will be the end of Gentile dominion over the nation of Israel. “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” Luke 21:24.

Kingdoms, many times are referred to as a mountain. The context is always the key. Not only are the Gentile powers reduced to chaff; they are blown away. Never again will they harass Israel. The stone evolves into a great mountain that eventually fills the whole earth.

This event is not the end of the world, but it is the end of this age. A new age begins with Christ’s Kingdom. It begins in Israel, and will be preached to the whole world, that Jesus the King, is ruling in Jerusalem. This will be the message of the, so called, great commission.

How far away is that event? No one knows. We do know that the ten nations must be allied first, and that the Antichrist comes from one of them, (Syria.) Also, there must be seven years of tribulation before the Stone strikes the Gentile powers. How long? No one knows. Also, that will not be the end of the earth, but is will end this age, and a new age begins. Between these events, the rapture of the  saved takes place. Are you saved and ready for that great event?
