THE WOMAN AND HER SEED

July 4, 2011 by Ken Blue

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:15.

This is the earliest prophecy in Scripture, and it concerns Israel’s future defeat of Satan and evil. There can be no doubt that the battle of the ages has been between Satan and his seed, and the nation of Israel, (the woman and her seed). If Satan can destroy the nation, the kingdom will remain his and “Paradise Regained” will never happen.

We must jump forward between six and seven thousand years for the fulfillment of this prophecy. We discover in Revelation chapter 12 that the woman is the nation of Israel and the man-child is the 144,000. “And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.  And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: (See Rev. 2:26-27) and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.  And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” Revelation 12:1-6.

It doesn’t take much insight to see that the battle in the Tribulation is the battle between the serpent and the woman that has been going on for centuries. The 144,000 come forth from the nation of Israel. As soon as it comes to birth, the Devil seeks to destroy it. God seals it for protection. Later the 144,000 are caught up to heaven to the throne of God, Satan’s wrath then turns on the nation of Israel, the woman. It is then; the woman flees into the wilderness where she is protected of God for 3 1/2 years.

The man child was sealed in Revelation chapter 7 and raptured to heaven sometime before chapter 14. “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” Revelation 14:1-5.

The Word of God is sure. What He promised in the first book of the Bible, He completes in the last book. Satan will be conquered by Christ and the man child. “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron:” “ And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.” Revelation 2:26-27. Psalm 2.

SOUL WINNING IN THE CONTEMPORARY CHURCH

soul winning

By Ken Blue

I never thought I would see the day when churches that emphasize soul winning would be castigated as the downfall of America. Yep, you heard me right. There are those who say the reason for the corruption in America is that pastors and evangelist have focused on soul winning instead of politics.

Someone has a screw loose in their head if they think there is anything more important than getting people saved and keeping them out of hell. Those who teach this are only excusing their own lack of soul winning and their unconcern for the lost. Jesus said He came to seek and save the lost. Also, as My Father hath sent me, even so send I you. In the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son, we are told three times that there is more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who gets saved than 99 people who are already saved.

These deceived souls don’t believe a pastor can do more than one thing at a time. The pastor is to do the work of an evangelist/missionary by getting people saved and starting new churches. The pastor is also to feed the flock the Word of God so they can grow thereby. Any pastor who lays down the ministry of soul winning is disobedient to God and will watch his self-righteous church die.

It is strange we don’t hear any criticism of Dr. Jack Hyles or Dr. Rice who put soul winning at the top of the list. Pastors are commanded to preach the Word, not the ideology of other evangelist or pastors. Don’t go to seed on any subject, but if you must, make it soul winning. God will be pleased with you, and a sinner will thank you. Your soul winning church is not the cause of the downfall of America or anyone else.

WHY I GO TO FELLOWSHIP MEETINGS

July 1, 2011 by Ken Blue

“TWO NEW AUDIO SONGS ADDED!”

I go to fellowship meetings to see who I can see.

I ask about attendance; did they have more than me?

With a little politics, firm handshakes and greetings,

I can book engagements for future preaching meetings.

I enjoy the fried chicken, and pie they call key lime.

I endure the preaching also for a good outline.

I visit the book tables searching for some new themes.

I check through the t-shirts and the jars of jellybeans.

Afterwards we gather, in groups of approving peers.

We huddle a little closer, having itching ears.

What is the latest scandal on someone we can scorn?

Is it about Paul Chappel, Dr. Ruckman, or Rick Warren?

I hear they are so desperate; they’ve censored old Ken Blue.

And if you don’t walk the line, next it may be you.

I no longer steal outlines; I’ve learned to use my own,

But I miss “important news” about what’s going on.

A CHURCHES GREATEST NEED

THE CHURCHES NEED FOR MONEY

churches

By Ken Blue

“A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.” Ecclesiastes 10:19.

I ask a pastor recently what he believed the greatest need of churches is, other than prayer and the Word of God. He said, “I can’t speak for others, but I think the greatest need of our church is more income. We are not able to do anything without the means to do it.”

The above verse concerning money is not intended to teach “all things” without exception. We know of many things money will not fix. However, the context and the book of Ecclesiastes, give a hint of what the writer had in mind. There are some things that cannot be fixed or corrected with or without money. We must see the difference and understand the intent of the writer.

Churches must have money to buy property, build buildings, buy supplies, pay the pastor and staff, and to have its various ministries. Someone has accurately said, “You can’t build a church with people who have no money, nor can you build it with the rich, they will not follow.”

There is no secret here. You must increase the income, or decrease the expenses, or you may need to do both. I would suggest that the pastor looks at all necessary operating expense. These are probably fixed and cannot be eliminated. Mortgage and utility payments must be made.

One thing we did at Open Door to get us back in the black was cancel mission conferences and Bible conferences. We saved thousands each year and never had to cut any of our missionaries. Do an inventory and find ways to cut down waste and to eliminate non-essentials. Money is the answer here, and you must have it to move forward. Guest speakers are a blessing, but they do not increase the attendance or the income of our churches. The pastor and the people must and can do this.
