WHY SOME BIBLE BELIEVERS PURPOSEFULLY MISS THE POINT

August 12, 2011 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.” Mark 12:13.

Whenever you write or speak, there will always be those who ignore the intent of your purpose and watch for an opening to ascend to the platform or to create some issue totally unrelated. Recently I received an accusation from a young man who had never read my works or heard my sermons on the subject of the King James Bible. Rather, he responded to someone else who had contacted him. His friend must be brave to have someone write for him.  This is always the way the terrorist work.  His criticism can be read at the end of the blog on, What Is Means To Be A Bible Believer.  Dr.Jack Hyles said, “Issue people are people who lack in leadership, They only appear to have leadership when they have some issue going.”

As one can see from the blog, I was attempting to establish the difference between faith and interpretation. One may have strong faith and still be in error on interpretation. They are not the same. Just because we have faith in an infallible Bible, does not mean that we are infallible. I made that point clear. Many of the brethren are confused about this.

I believe I hold in my hand the inerrant, infallible, preserved Word of God in the King James Bible. You will notice I said, “I believe…” I continued by saying if I held the originals of the Old and the New Testaments, it would still require the simple faith instilled in me by my mother.

Now, if anyone can write of this subject without using the word “believe” or one of its synonyms, we would love to hear from them. The Word always precedes faith.

Now, to those who scan articles to catch me in my words, good luck. Also, those who think the article “smells like the apostasy…” need a nose job so they will know the difference between apostasy and grace.  Proverbs 6:18,19. Proverbs 26:5. Proverbs 18:13. Moreover, the smell could be something on your shoe. Be sure and check before you take your next step.

WHAT IT WILL BE LIKE TO DEPART THIS EARTH

August 9, 2011 by Ken Blue

Having a desire to depart

Depart

By Ken Blue

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Philippians 1:23

Paul made it clear that the whole creation groans under the curse. Our body becomes our greatest physical enemy while we are alive. No wonder he had a “desire to depart…” Death is far better for the Christian than life. In this life, we struggle every day with everything the curse has touched. “For in this, we groan…” So does the whole creation.

To depart and be with Christ is far better for many reasons. Each month I receive news that a family member or friend has been diagnosed with some terminal illness. We sorrow for them and miss them. But, thank God, once we are with Christ, we will never be separated.

To be with Christ means there will be no more death, pain, or tears. Can we question that to be with Him will be far better?

[perfectpullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]…to be with Him will be far better.[/perfectpullquote]

Once we are with Christ, the personal battle over sin will be over. No matter how long we live on this earth, we will battle the sin nature within us. What a wonderful day that will be when we can’t sin, can’t say or think anything wrong!

Lastly, we will see and be with Christ! We love Him now because He first loved us. Faith will then become sight, and we shall see Him! Won’t that be a wonderful day? Tomorrow, on earth, will be like today and yesterday, but when we depart, we will be with Him, we will live in His eternal light.

I too have a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is FAR better! Cheer up, Christian, only a few more days to go!

DO YOU HAVE COMPASSION FOR THE LOST?

July 29, 2011 by Ken Blue

ByKenBlue

“But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.” Psalms 86:15.

The attributes of God fall into two categories. These are His natural and His moral attributes. There may be some difference in classification of the sub-categories, but the two main categories seem to be universally accepted by all. God’s compassion falls under the category of His love and grace. These are two of His moral attributes, and His immutability demands that none of His attributes ever change.

When you are accused of not having enough love, spirituality, or compassion, you are dealing with a subject that is usually in the eye of the critic, and you will be hard pressed to defend yourself. To some people you will never be spiritual enough; while there are others who accuse you of misplaced love and compassion.

My openion is that none of us has enough compassion, and it can be misplaced. However, that judgment, as we said above, will be in the eye of the critic, and the Judgment Seat of Christ will settle it. God is full of compassion. I am not. I am not full of compassion for the self-righteous Baptist, or the unrighteous sinners. I wish I was, for I believe it is right.

One thing that helps me to have some compassion for the lost is to take inventory of my own wicked heart. How can I not have compassion on the worst of sinners, when He has had such compassion on me?Paulsaid he was the chief of sinners. But, much of the time I feel that I must take issue with him.

Since the Lords compassion is directed toward His creatures; that too, should be our focus. I have seen the compassion of man, and it scares me. God is full of compassion. It may be better to have misdirected compassion, than to preselect which sinners we will have compassion on. We will leave that judgment up to God also. I am just thankful that we have a compassionate God!

Again, compassion is one of God’s ways of making His love known. Wherever you see His grace, compassion, and providence, you see His love in action. In fact, love without action is impossible to identify.

The Lord had compassion over Jerusalem and the multitudes. “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,” Luke 19:41. Dake says, “Imagine this! Christ weeping and wailing freely and openly before the multitudes, many of whom would suffer the most horrible deaths of any in history.” Paul had such compassion for the nation of Israel, he said, “I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,  That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:  Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.” Romans 9:1-5. George Williams commentary says, “The Christ-rejector is morally lower than the idolaters of Tyre and Sidon, or the citizens of Sodom.” (Matt. 11:20-24. P. 708.) Paul’s compassion was for the lost, self-righteous, wicked, Christ rejecting nation. Perhaps this made Paul less of a man.

DO GUNS KILL PEOPLE, OR DO PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE?

July 27, 2011 by Ken Blue

By KenBlue

There is a movement in America to remove guns from every citizen. Every time there is a mall or school shooting, the anti gun crowd exploits the tragedy. True, there are people who should never own or touch a gun. They are crackpots with no self discipline and are a danger to themselves and to others. I don’t think guns should be taken from any American because a few nuts can’t use them responsibility. I suspect most of those reading this feel the same way. I know pastors and evangelist who have concealed weapon permits, and carry a pistol most of the time. Are we in danger around them? Maybe.

The same argument could be applied to television, computers, and Iphones. Like some gun owners, they are not responsible or self disciplined. Since many of them can’t control themselves, they think technology is the problem. The problem is their heart. Those who seek filth will attend movie theaters, buy the books, or rent the DVD. Your TV, computer and Iphone is not your problem. It is your own wicked heart.

You may get rid of your TV, and perhaps you should; Even as some gun owners should turn their guns in. But you are left with your computer. You are closer to pornography with a computer than you are with your television. You say, “But I have a block on my computer.” Good, what about your cell phone, its camera, and its sex texting ability? Dirty pictures and messages are sent by the thousands every day on these.

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]The problem is their heart.[/pullquote]

No, I am not trying to justify anything, in spite of what some self-righteous Pharisee says.  I am trying to get you to screw your head on right. Until you get rid of your computer and modern cell phone, you should keep your mouth shut about what others do. Until we see you throw your cell phone in the swamp, we won’t take you too seriously on these other matters. Some who struggle with pornography believe everyone else has their problem. We will keep our guns, but we will play it safe and keep them from idiots. Remember, guns don’t kill people; people kill people. Some people are so undisciplined they rail about Facebook and Twitter. Then they get up and preach against their own sins as though they were yours. We’ve seen this crowd before and realize that they are trying to absolve themselves. They will never be satisfied until you get rid of the toys they got rid of.

INVITED TO PREACH AT JUBILEE!

July 25, 2011 by Ken Blue

As many of you know, I am in a battle with ALS, and the ALS is winning. There are days I have very little voice volume because the diaphragm is losing its strength.

Pastor Al Hughes called me and said he wanted me to come and preach for him. This would be the 15th year straight I have preached at the Jubilee. I explained to him my voice condition and said it might be a mistake. “However, if you are willing to take the heat, I am willing to take the chance.” He assured me that he and his church wanted me there. Lord willing I will preach Sunday evening, August 7th.

I know that people from around the world are reading our blogs, and I ask you to pray for me, and the meeting at Brother Hughes church.  I will be preaching on the hope all believer have.

Thank you for your prayers.
