Path of the Son of the MorningSon of morning

BY Ken Blue

Isaiah 14:12-19

Thou art fallen from heaven, O son of the morning;

Cut down to the ground, you are found!

“To rule over men,  above the heights I’ll ascend,

On the sides of the north sit down.”

I will wing my way above the highest of clouds.

Like the Most High, I will be.”

Yet, assigned, for thy pride, to the pit you’ll reside;

With contempt, men will glance at thee.

Perfect in beauty, perfect in wisdom,

Morning Star and Cherub they name.

Aspiring Deity, angels following thee.

Yet, locked in hell, to remain.

O Son of the Morning, how great was thy fall!

Now in unquenchable fame.

Eternities now, you’ll reflect how,

God’s Son Paradise did regain.

PRECIOUS MEMORIES

December 9, 2013 by Ken Blue

memories

I see an ancient hour glass,

With white sand drifting through.

I see morning sunshine,

Chasing the sparkling dew.

I see my aged Grandpa,

And the wisdom he knew.

And I have been blessed

I see my dear mother,

Washing clothes at the spring.

I see the strong grapevine,

Where Jim and I would swing.

I see dad plowing dirt,

That wouldn’t grow a thing.

And I have been blessed

I see my youthful friends,

Are now just memories.

I see my first burger,

With french-fries and grilled cheese.

I see my Grandpa’s car,

I think, a model “T.”

And I have been blessed

I see my Aunt Lucille,

Under a huge oak tree.

I see her teaching there,

The Word of God to me.

I see an example,

That all children should see.

And I have been blessed

I see my uncle Troy,

Watching hummingbirds feed.

I see his bibbed overalls;

That’s where he stored his teeth.

I see his fond kindness,

To a small boy like me.

And I have been blessed

I see an old school house,

It’s a ghost of a dream.

I see children at play,

Each choosing up their team.

I see as they vanish,

Like a rippling stream.

And I have been blessed

I see an old preacher,

Preaching on that Sunday.

I see it all clearly now,

The debt He had to pay.

I see I once was lost,

Lost on a broad highway.

And I have been blessed

I see the tracks of steel,

A train powered by coal.

I see a flickering light,

Was fueled by coal oil.

I see a musty cellar,

Our refuge and stronghold.

And I have been blessed

I see pent up images,

As they beckon to me.

I see each clamoring,

To come forth and be free.

I see they’ll be confined,

And remain a mystery.

And I have been blessed

I see a future time.

I’ve reserved for the rest.

I see now is the time,

That ending this is best.

I see you know the end,

You don’t have to guess.

And you have been blessed

I WILL TRUST HIM

October 19, 2013 by Ken Blue

New Song: I Know the Master of the wind

By Ken Blue

Tomorrow’s a new day

With problems of its own.

Now will be yesterday

With all its problems gone

The sun shines on the lost.

He sends rain to the just,

So I will not worry

In Him will be my trust

Since He feeds the sparrows,

Cloths lilies of the field,

I’ll not worry for tomorrow.

He provides every meal.

I’ll trust Him while I sleep

I know He cares for me

If I die ere I wake

With Him I’ll safely  be.

HE KISSED THE DOOR TO HEAVEN, AND WENT TO HELL

August 31, 2013 by Ken Blue

judas kiss

By Ken Blue

Jesus said, I’m the Way,

The Truth, the Life, the Door.

All those who hear My words,

Find the life they’ve searched for.

He chose Twelve Disciples,

And sent them forth to preach.

Equipped for every task,

His gospel they did teach.

But one did not believe

The kingdom he proclaimed.

He was one of the Twelve,

And Judas was his name.

So he devised a plan.

For a price, he’d betray,

The One who proved to be,

The Truth, the Door, the Way.

A kiss would be the sign,

The enemies would know.

“Hold Him fast and bind Him,

And do not let Him go.”

Judas said, “Hail Master,”

And kissed Him as before.

He sealed his fate that day,

As he kissed Heavens door.

Let this be a warning.

You know the story well.

Judas kissed heaven’s door,

And sent his soul to hell.

THAT’S HOW IT IS AT 75

August 18, 2013 by Ken Blue

 old man 75

By Ken Blue

I look in the mirror, then look away.

That is not the face, I saw yesterday.

It’s full of wrinkles, with age in its eyes.

That’s how it is at 75.

Today’s entertainment is spawned in hell.

Performers and supporters will go there as well.

Try and find a young conscience that’s alive.

That’s how it is at 75.

I dig out old pictures of a young man.

I stare at them, and then recall my plans.

But now, I’ve discover, life had its surprise.

That’s how it is at 75.

I would kiss little babies on their head

And hug old grandmas, “you’re pretty,” I said

Grandmas’ look better now; game plans revised.

That’s how it is at 75

I no longer build castles in the air.

There is One who went, a place to prepare.

My greatest challenge is to stay alive.

That’s how it is at 75.

I know what’s coming, the Bible says so.

I made Jesus my Savior long ago.

So, in this world of madness, I’ll survive.

That’s how it is at 75.
