BETTER THAN I DESERVE

January 20, 2013 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

If I got what I deserve, I’d be in hell today.

When speaking to God, He would then turn away.

Even the Devil, wouldn’t give me time of day.

If I got what I deserve.

If I got what I deserve, she’d left long ago.

I would have lost every friend; everyone I know.

And like Cain, I’d be banished, with no place to go.

If I got what I deserve.

If I got what I deserve, there’d be no hope for me.

When I would do good, selfish motives I always see.

I vow I’ll do better, but lost I would always be.

If I got what I deserve.

I have no other argument; I have no other plea.

It is enough that Jesus died, and that He died for me.

He took all that I deserve; my substitute was He.

I’m better than I deserve, by grace sufficiency.

AMNON’S LOVE OR LUST?

January 18, 2013 by Ken Blue

tamar

By Ken Blue  See 2 Samuel 13:1-29

Amnon’s love for Tamar was nothing more than lust.

He thought of her night and day, and have her, he must.

But she was a pure girl in her body and mind,

And was unaware of Amnon’s wicked design.

But, Amnon could not eat, nor could he sleep at night.

And so his crafty friend advised, to solve his plight.

“Pretend that you are sick, and call her to your side,

To prepare you a meal, and for a time abide.”

So, innocent Tamar came, at Amnon’s request.

And prepared him a meal, one of her very best.

But, when she brought it to the bedside, where he lay,

He grabbed her and forced her, and then sent her away.

She pleaded with Amnon; “please do not cast me out.”

She was now defiled, and forced to wander about.

But Amnon now despised her, his lust turned to hate.

“Get her out of my sight; lock the door and the gate.”

Tamar had a brother, whose name was Absalom.

And he had heard from others what Amnon had done.

Absalom gave a party; told Amnon the time.

And when he arrived, he was murdered for his crime.

Amnon’s  love for Tamar was nothing more than lust.

He thought of her night and day, and have her, he must.

But she was a pure girl in her body and mind.

And many girls are fooled by lust’s wicked design.

THE OLD CROSSCUT SAW

January 17, 2013 by Ken Blue

TEAMWORK AND THE CROSSCUT SAW

crosscut saw

By Ken Blue

I am old enough to remember my Grandpa and others use the crosscut saw to cut down trees, and cut them into firewood. As a boy, I even tried my hand at it. There were a few lessons I had to learn.

Each saw was about eight to ten feet long. Upright handles were on both ends, and were long enough for a man to use both hands when sawing. It was virtually impossible for one man to use this saw. It was made to be a two man operation.

Some agreement was necessary prior to beginning. Which trees would be cut? Where do we want them to fall, and what length should each piece be? Once these were decided, it was time to go to work.

[pullquote align=”right” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Some church members want to pull when they should relax, and others relax when they should be pulling.[/pullquote]

Some skill was needed when working with a crosscut saw. Each man takes hold of the handles. One man will pull the saw towards himself. The other will simply keep his hand on the handles at his end of the saw. Once the man who pulled the saw has reached his limit, the other man begins pulling the saw back toward himself. This back and forth motion moves the saw through the largest of trees.

If both man decide to pull on his end of the saw at the same time, all movement will stop. In addition, if either man pushes the saw from his end, the saw will bend and bind up. So teamwork was vital if things were to operate, as they should.

Some church members want to pull when they should relax, and other are relaxed when they should be pulling. It really isn’t hard work when everyone knows their job, works as a team, and has the same objectives. Wouldn’t it be great if each member of your church knew what his tasks were, and would work as a team? You are the teacher.

IGNORANCE WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF AMERICA

January 15, 2013 by Ken Blue

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Hosea 4:6 .

(This was sent by a friend)

“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”  TRUTH: Nothing new!

It’s so amazing that people just refuse to learn from History.

I live in China! I live in Communist China! I live where they have actually EXPERIENCED this picture.

They fully know what Obama is doing and yet the American people still sit by as if the picture with Children is a true representation of their sincere thoughts when it actually reveals their true agendas to disarm the American people as it happened in other Communist countries.

Shame on any American for being so gullible.

WHY ATHEIST HATE THE BIBLE-#2

January 15, 2013 by Ken Blue

atheist

By Ken Blue

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. 2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. 3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Psalm 53:1-3.
The following is a response from a novice who claims to be an atheist. He gives his reasons why God could not exist. They are as follows:

Thank you for visiting The Secular Web. And thank you for your feedback to whatever article it is that your feedback pertains.

I take it, then, that as a Bible-believing Christian you believe all of the following are true, actual, factual (let me know one way or the other, please):

NOTE: This young man thinks if you believe in God and the Bible, You must put the same interpretation on the text he attacks. As I said at the beginning, If a Christian allows the atheist to box him into his own little cubical of reasoning, he falls into their trap. Don’t let them do it. If you can believe Genesis 1:1, the rest is simple.

NOTE: If you don’t believe in God, you have bigger problems than the ones listed by Jeff. In fact, there are no problems in his list. He is the one with the problem. Since Jeff only believes in what is logical, in my next article I will give him a test in logic. In fact, I had an accredited course in Logic. So, I know a syllogistic fallacy when I see one.
