TO THE FOLLOWERS OF HAROLD CAMPING; DO THYSELF NO HARM.

April 22, 2011 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

TODAY IS THE DAY!!! ?

Harold Camping has assured his followers that the rapture will take place May 21, 2011. I am a firm believer in the rapture; I am also a firm believer that Camping is a diluted false prophet. I have been a student of God’s Word for over 50 years and I can tell you that his time-line is a fantasy. I know the answer to the question, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” But I am a little concerned about Noah’s flood and Camping’s time- line.

It would be interesting to see the facts as to how he arrived at the date of 4990 B.C. for the flood. He cannot. Here is how Camping operates. He distorts every verse in the Bible to confuse his follower, and then they need him to explain them. Not one person could come up with the teaching that Camping preaches. If you know any predecessors who taught what he teaches, we would like to know who they are. Not one of Camping’s followers would interpret the Bible as he does, without his books and teaching.

WARNING: History has demonstrated the despair and the suicide of many who follow false prophets, and later discovered they were deceived. On May 22, hundreds of you will be confused and embarrassed, unless you have an ace up your sleeve. My advice to you is this, if the rapture does not come as your false prophet predicts, don’t give up your faith in God or the Bible. Just find a church where the truth is taught. God wrote the Bible so you can understand it. Therefore, you are able to check all teachers by the Word of God. Do thyself no harm.

NOTE: I just received this from a follower of Harold Camping. It concerns me. Note how many times death is hinted at.
“May The Lord Find Us Faithful”………..By Mac Lynch
God has not given us the spirit of fear, But has given us the strength to obey.
With power and sound mind, with love the unfailing kind, Oh, be not a-shamed of His way.
[Chorus]
May the Lord find us faithful,
May His word be our banner held high
May the Lord find us faithful,
Everyday tho’ we live tho’ we die.No man that seeketh after things of this life, Is a soldier, who passes the test.
Be faithful, be working, be running, be serving, Be searching His word for His best.
Living or dying may honor be Thine
From this wretched life,
You loved and forgave.
A life that’s on fire, be only our heart’s desire, Be faithful from now to the grave.”

The above anonymous follower of Camping has sent me several comments about his beliefs. My first question to him was, “If the rapture does not happen on May 21, I hope you will be Christian enough to contact me and admit Camping is a false prophet and that you were wrong. You should have enough grace to do that. Right? Is there some reason you fear to give a yes or no answer? If the rapture takes place, and you are saved, you won’t have to answer. If it does not you should boldly step forward and admit you were misled and Camping is a false prophet. There is nothing difficult to understand about the question.” He ignores my question, refusing to answer it. That speaks volumes.

HOW TO BE A NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST

April 21, 2011 by Ken Blue

IF YOU’RE IN CHRIST, YOU ARE A NEW CREATURE

By Ken Blue

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

The Lord Jesus Christ was born without a sinful nature, just as Adam was created without a sinful nature. Although Adam is called the Son of God, it is by virtue of his direct creation. Jesus is the Only Begotten Son, because of His unique birth. However, Jesus was just as much a man as was Adam.

Jesus was human and had every need that man has. He was hungry, thirsty, weary, sleepy, sorrowful, in agony, wept, felt pain, bled and died. There was nothing about his earthly existence that could provide payment for our salvation. His teaching, example, and wonderful life could save no one. To be saved, we must become new creatures.

When Jesus went into the grave, His was a dead, helpless, and lifeless corpse. After three days, He arose in a new glorified body that required none of the Adamic needs. He was not a new creation; He was a new creature, the last Adam, and the head of a generation of new creatures who are in Him.

[pullquote align=”left” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]Church, denomination, sincerity, sacrifice, or martyrdom can never save you.[/pullquote]

That is why all the religion and good works in the world can never save any person. Your church, denomination, sincerity, sacrifice, or martyrdom can never save you. You must be in the glorified, risen Christ and be a new creature, as He was.

How is that possible? When Jesus died on the cross, He was dying in your place, as your substitute. He took all your sins and guilt on Himself, and God saw you in His Son! Thus, His death was your death. His burial was your burial, and His resurrection into newness of life was your resurrection. He was made sin for you, and you are made righteous in Him! Therefore, every believer who appropriates His death and resurrection as his own is a new creature in Christ.

If you are not saved, now would be a perfect time to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. If you believe what He died for you and you will accept it by faith, He will save you and make you a new creature in Him. All you need to do is accept Him and tell Him you accept Him as Your Lord and Savior. He will do the rest.

“ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation… 13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13.

I WISH I’D DONE THAT

April 17, 2011 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

My little boy came running in to show me a bug he’d found.
I was too busy with my own affairs just to turn around.
I wish I’d done that.

Another son came rushing home to tell of the game and score
But I was busy with my own things just like the times before.
I wish I’d done that.

I put my little girl in bed, she said, “daddy, let us pray.”
I said, “It’s getting late sweetheart, tomorrow’s a busy day.”
I wish I’d done that.

I spent five years in Bible College, working both day and night.
I had little time for wife or children; or to hold them tight.
I wish I’d done that.

My beloved mother said to me, “I love you,” every day.
I did not respond in kind to her, and now she’s gone away.
I wish I’d done that.

There are many pilgrims struggling along on life’s rocky road.
I could have shared a helpful hand, lightening their heavy load.
I wish I’d done that.

A man asked me of salvation and what it was all about.
“I must rush to a meeting; I’ll find someone to help you out.”
I wish I’d done that.

Its judgment time for me now, I find much wood, stubble, and hay.
The opportunities that I had are burned and drift away.
I wish I’d done that.

And now I say, to friends and family as we approach the line,
I love you, and I wanted to tell you while there was still time.
I’m glad I did that.

HOW TO GET PEOPLE TO THE “ALTAR.”

April 14, 2011 by Ken Blue

THE ALTAR OR LETTING GOD “ALTER” YOU.

By Ken Blue

A police officer, who was a member of our church, told the following story. He said, when he pulled someone over, or was called to a domestic disturbance, many times it was necessary to arrest someone or write a ticket. The guilty would weep, and plead, and promise not to do it again. However, before the week was over he was arresting them again. He assured me that these people were serious, and meant it when making their promises; they simply lacked the character and commitment to follow their promise.

Some Christians are like that. They make promises to God at the “altar,” which they forget before the next invitation. They mean it when they say it, but the commitment is not life changing. If we spent more time in private prayer, we might not feel compelled to go to the “altar” quite so often.

There are many ways to get people to the altar, if that is your objective. Usually this can be done through a series of questions. 1. How many of you feel your need to read more Scripture? 2. How many of you need to pray more? 3. How many feel your need to love the Lord more? 4. How many of you need to witness more? 5. How many feel your need to love your husband or wife more? 6. How many of you want the power of God in your life? 7. How many of you want God to use you? I know I do.

[pullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]If we spent more time in private prayer, we might not feel compelled to go to the “altar” quite so often.[/pullquote]

As you can see, the questions are unlimited, and every believer will answer yes. The problem is, none of us will ever arrive at a place where there isn’t a need to say yes to these questions. Thus we keep running to the altar at every invitation.

Why not settle these questions in your private prayer time as you read the Bible, and develop from the inside out? If you are serious, you ought to get it settled. If you aren’t, no amount of trips to the “altar” will; and you’ll be getting another notice before the week is over.

This does not mean that churches should not give people an opportunity to respond to the sermon. It means your questions should not be a form of manipulation to see how many you can get to respond to you. People grow from the inside out. It is not the “altar” you need. You need to let God “alter” you.
