I’VE EARNED THE RIGHT TO…

May 5, 2010 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“What? know ye not …ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify
God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
1 Corinthians 6:1-20

“I’ve earned the right…” I did say.
“I’ve served my time and paid my way.”
“No one will tell me what I can’t do,
I have rights and they are long overdue.”

Then someone ask, “Are you a Christian, son?
Are you aware of what Jesus has done?
You’re bought with a price; He paid your due.
You are not your own; He purchased you.”

In shame I bowed my guilty head,
“Forgive me God for what I’ve said.
I have no rights; I belong to You.
And by Your grace, I will prove it’s true.”

So, if you’re inclined to speak your mind,
Take heed as you do.
Never say as your on your way,
“I’ve earned the right to…”

THE FINAL JUDGMENT

April 30, 2010 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them…” Revelation 20:11.

Appearance stern and countenance of stone;
He seated Himself on a Great White Throne.

Sinners were called from each dispensation;
To hear their fate, and their destination.

Witnesses were summoned to testify;
And sinners were asked for their alibi.

Conscious was then called to the witness stand,
Swearing to the truth; he raised his right hand.

“Do you know the accused?” Conscious was asked.
“I do,” He said; “his conversion, my task.”

“He forced me out, while refusing my call,
Until my voice, was scarcely heard at all.”

To the witness stand next, was called the Law;
Was ask to attest what he knew and saw.

“I reasoned with his conscious every day,
But he cast aside and pushed me away.”

Creation was called to the witness stand;
With no place to hide, he saw every man.

“I spoke each one’s language; in every land.
They refused to listen or understand.”

When ask for a verdict, each did agree;
Light was rejected; and all were guilty.

The Judge stood up in His dazzling array,
Sentenced to hell; they were all sent away.

Avoid this judgment and its coming date;
By trusting Jesus before it’s too late.

A COMPLETED SALVATION

April 24, 2010 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predeestinat to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30.

The believer’s salvation is a completed work from beginning to end. In God’s plan, Jesus was crucified before the foundation of the world. However, the crucifixion materialized over 2000 years ago. Likewise, the believer has been to the cross and is now seated in heaven. The realization of that truth will take place when Christ; who is our life shall appear. While we are on earth, we live and walk in the light of that truth by faith. The following poem declares that truth.

Those who would be save, He always foreknew,
Before earth’s creation; crucified for you.
His image is our predestination.
His Word creates that sanctification.

Providential working, reached the called;
Drawn by His Spirit, at His feet they fall.
Declaring us just; wholly justified.
With Him on the cross, we’re identified.

Secured in heaven; fully glorified.
Seated and sealed; we are immortalized.
From foreknowledge to, glorification;
Forever we’re saved from all condemnation!

Foreknown, predestined, and effectually called;
Justifying and glorifying us once and for all!

CHRIST’S SECURING LOVE

April 16, 2010 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Romans 8:35

Shall I question His love for me when in my tribulation,
When I see His agony, in His humiliation?

Shall I question His matchless Love when troubled or distressed?
He loves me so, and so I know, for me, He knows what’s best.

Shall I question His perfect love when in my persecution?
He suffered on the cross for me; became my substitution.

Shall I question His abundant love in my time of famine?
Through it all, He’s teaching me, a faith I need to fathom.

Shall I question His tender love, in my Nakedness?
Naked, on the cross He hung, and drank the bitterness.

Shall I question His protective love, in my time of peril?
From the manger to the cross; He was pursued by hell.

Shall I question His undying love, if called to face the sword,
When His abiding love secures for me, my great reward?

MOTHER’S EMBROIDERY

April 4, 2010 by Ken Blue

By Ken Blue

Mother gathered her embroidery tools next to the old rocking chair;
And like a skilled surgeon, she laid out each item, insuring all was there.

She’d ironed a pattern on the cloth; she’d stretched on embroidery hoops;
Threading the needles with various colors; began her stitches and loops.

I sat on the floor observing each move and contentment on her face.
I could not see the pattern above; she was following with skill and grace.

But from where I sat, I could see no beauty, only frayed ends and knots;
The pattern, to me was without a scheme, and the plan I understood not.

She patted my head and patiently said, “When I’m finished, you’ll soon see.”
With reassuring voice she said what she did, she was doing just for me.

So as I look upward, from down below, His pattern I cannot see.
But with reassuring words, He whispers and says, “it’s all for you; trust Me.”

And as skillful hands follow a pattern, unseen by mere mortal man,
We can be sure while we are down here; for us, He has a purpose and plan.

When mother was finished she lifted me up, where I could see;
And what she embroidered I now understood, and she did it just for me.
