In the book of Daniel we have several accounts of coming world history in relation to Israel. The account in Daniel is from his time to the end of the age. Daniel is shown an image that represented Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and the revised Roman Empire consisting of ten kings. (Dan. 2:37-43).
These same kingdoms are shown again, except they are represented as animals. (8:5-9). The third kingdom in Daniel 2, the breast and arms of silver, is the he goat in Daniel 8. One should note that the he goat, Alexander the Great, conquers the Medes and Persians, and from the head of the he goat comes four horns. These four horns represent the four kingdoms formed in his empire by his four Generals. These four, we know today are Greece, Turkey, Syria, and Egypt. In verse 9, a “little horn” comes out of one of the four horns. The task is to find out from which of the four the “little horn” comes.
In Daniel 11:40, we read, “at the time of the end (the end of this age) shall the king of the south (Egypt) push at him: and the king of the north (Syria) shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships.” See (Dan. 11:40; 8:19; 9:27; 11:35,45; 12:1,7-13).
- Dake’s Reference Bible: The vision concerns the very end of the Gentile world powers symbolized by the image of Dan. 2 and the beasts of Dan. 7 and Dan. 8; Rev. 13; 17:8-17. At the time of the end of this age in which we live, “shall the king of the south (Egypt) push at him (that is, the king of the north); and the king of the north (Syria) shall come against him (that is, the king of the south) like a whirlwind” with his armies and navies and conquer many countries (Dan. 11:40).
- Dake: the little horn or Antichrist comes from Syria, one of the 4 divisions of the Grecian empire… He thus revives the old Grecian empire, which is symbolized by a leopard (Dan. 7:6; rev. 13:1-2). The other 6 kingdoms of the old Roman Empire submit to him, making him their leader in a war with the north and east (dan. 11:44; rev. 17:12-17). If the wars of dan. 11:5-34 are only between Syria and Egypt, and if the last-day war of dan. 11:40-43 is between Syria and Egypt, ending with the overthrow of Egypt (the king of the south) by Syria (the king of the north), then it settles the question as to where antichrist comes from. He arises from Syria and will fulfill dan. 7:8,19-27; 8:9-14,22-25; 9:27; 11:40-45; 12:1-7; rev. 6:1-8; 13:1-18; 16:13-16; 17:8-17; 19:19-21.
We have quoted extensively from Dake, since we believe he has the best argument for Antichrist coming from Syria. Also, most commentators agree that this is the area he will come from. We are living in exciting days. Christians should be able to see the “unthawing” of the old Roman Empire, and the stage that is being set for new leaders, and a military genius who will be able, with the help of Satan, to conquer and lead his armies against the surrounding nations.
Israel will not only be in the path of the Antichrist and his armies, they will be under his heel. Some believe Israel will make a covenant with the Antichrist. However, he will decide to conquer all the Jews, and establish his headquarters in Jerusalem. “And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” Daniel 11:45. “The Antichrist, or king of the north (Syria), will make his capital the Jewish temple in Jerusalem between the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean Sea in the glorious holy mountain, Mount Moriah; yet he shall come to an end at Armageddon (Dan. 7:11,26-27; 8:25; 9:27; 2Th. 2:8; Rev. 19:19-21).” Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible. This is where he meets his “waterloo.” Christ will come with His armies, and Antichrist and all his followers will be destroyed. Many nations will acknowledge Jesus Christ as KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
I believe Christians should be expecting the rapture at any time, and also watching world events as they concern Israel. My hope is that the United States will remain a dependable friend to Israel. “Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3.
Christians must understand that most of the Bible is not about the Church. Most of the Bible is about God’s Kingdom that was forfeited by Adam, and has been ruled by Satan ever since. God created the nation of Israel to be the one through which Jesus would come as King to reclaim the lost kingdom. This explains why Israel has been Satan’s number one nation to destroy down through the centuries, and that is his number one goal today. But, as we have shown from above, he will not succeed. He and all his followers, led by the king of Syria, will be destroyed at the coming of the KING OF KINGS! The Bible is about that King and His Kingdom. The only doctrinal portion to the church is Paul’s epistles, Romans through Philemon.

Pastor Ken Blue was born in Boswell, Ark. In 1955 he accepted Christ as his Savior. He and his wife Joyce were married in 1955. They have 5 children. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist Bible College in 1969 and started the Open Door Baptist Church in Lynnwood, Wa. where he pastored for 39 years. Because of health issues (ALS) he was forced to resign as pastor. It is his desire to continue to be used of God to help pastors and believers through this ministry.
He will come from Africa.
Remember that the Antichrist will mimic the life of Jesus Christ.
That is one reason people will be confused.

The first person saved in the N.T. was an Ethiopian. So why didn’t Africa (the race of Ham) receive the blessings that were given to Japheth? Because they rejected Christianity. In essence, they were antichrist. The devil was spurned and that rejection will spawn the antichrist.
I am not aware that the Antichrist must mimic the life of Jesus Christ. John said, “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” 1 John 2:18 “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” 1 John 2:22 “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” 1 John 4:3 . So, are to believe these “mimicked” Christ? Also, you said, “The first person saved in the N.T. was an Ethiopian.” Perhaps you could provide Scripture that says Antichrist must mimic the life of Jesus Christ, and that the first person saved in the New Testament was Ethiopian.
Concerning the other material you have written, I neither see the relevance nor understand what you are trying to say.

In the first place, there is the Anti-Christ with a capital “A.” There were also many anti-Christ’s in the world at the time of the New Testament church with a lower-case “a.” What is the difference between these two? Did the writers of the New Testament make a mistake in their choosing between a lower-case “a” and an upper-case “A?” No, they were simply pointing out that anyone that opposes, for example, the divinity of Christ is an anti-Christ.
That is obvious from the text.
The Antichrist mimics the Lord in several ways:
He Will Display Miraculous Powers
Paul knew that this man of lawlessness would dazzle those who are deceived and that is why many will worship him. In 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12. The sad fact is that people will be so far removed from knowing Jesus Christ that they won’t recognize the true God from the false one. These powers are also mentioned in Revelation 13:13. The difference is Jesus never performed miracles to draw attention to Himself but to glorify God. The Anti-Christ will try and draw glory to himself with miracles (John 4:48).
This is true
The Anti-Christ Comes Back to Life
Just like Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected, the Anti-Christ will recover from what was considered a mortal wound. (Rev 13:14). What a feat that will cause many to be motivated by the sight of this “fatal wound [that] had been healed“; so much so that many will worship him (Rev 13:12). This is imitating Jesus Christ again for even the disciple Thomas doubted that Jesus could recover from the death at His crucifixion but when he saw the resurrected Christ he confirmed that Jesus was Lord and God (John 20:28).
That interpretation is debatable.” 2. He will come out of the earth (Rev. 13:11), which is the same as coming out of the sea (cp. Dan. 7:3 with Dan. 7:17). There is no intimation that he will be from the underworld of departed spirits, or that he will be a man resurrected from the dead. Both beasts symbolize two natural men who will be born in these last days, will fulfill prophecy and die at Armageddon (Rev. 19:20; Dan. 7:11; Isa. 11:4; 2Th. 2:8). Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible: Containing the Old and New Testaments of the Authorized or King James Version Text.”The Anti-Christ Rules in Full Authority
The Anti-Christ, again mimicking Jesus sovereignty, will rule for 42 months over the earth. (Rev 13:5). (Rev 13:7). Christians know who actually reigns supreme for Jesus is Lord of all and has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. The Anti-Christ thinks he has power but he is given only as much power as God allows him to have. All this mans power is within the sovereign plan of God as God can even use evil for good.
He Claims to be God and is Worshiped
A strong characteristic is that the Anti-Christ will seek to be worshipped like God is as Paul writes in (2 Thes 2:3-4).
Good!
I never said the Antichrist “must” mimic the life of Jesus Christ. So please do not distort my words. I said he “will” mimic the life of Jesus Christ and the verses given clearly show that such will occur. He does so in order to confuse people.
I think this is straining at gnat…
As far as the text of my other post it is only to show my guess as to the origin of the Antichrist is as good as the guess of anyone else; including yours.
You might be right, but I think my “guess” is correct
And your question about the Ethiopian:
Ac 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
Ac 8:28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
Ac 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
Ac 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
Ac 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Ac 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
Are we to understand that no one got saved from Matthew 1 to Acts 8? I don’t agree. However, if the first person to get saved was an Ethiopian, it means nothing. Everything is speculation.
I think you have a good article and grasp of Scripture. Thank you, and God bless you.
I agree with you that the antichrist will come from one of the Muslim nations. However, will he also have a bloodline to the tribe of Dan since they were expelled from the nation of Israel. This is what seems to come to me.
I guess there is no way to know for sure. Thanks
In the Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible, Compact Edition, Copyright 2001, First Printing – June 2006; page 1480, under a heading “4 Divisions of the Grecian Empire” it clearly states there that… Syria falls within the Eastern Division, whilst Turkey falls within the Northen Division.
SO how come Syria in the EASTern Division becomes King of the NORTH?
I guess because Syria is north of Israel.
