Be sure and listen to the great songs to lift your spirit
Moses led them from Egypt; he’d been saved by Pharaoh’s daughter.
They came through the sea, untouched by the fleeting water.
He sang a song of deliverance; there he built an altar.
They journeyed next to Marah; the place of bitter water.
At Passover night, and the Red Sea; their enemies God did slaughter,
Then led them to a pool; a pool of bitter water.
His purpose was clearly a test; would they trust Him or retreat.
A branch was cast in the pool, making the bitter sweet.
God’s amazing forgiveness, overlooked their unbelief and sin,
And led to wells of water, of trees, three score, and ten!
The test before the victory; the bitter before the sweet,
Remember, bitter waters are not for your defeat.
So when you come to bitter waters, with your troubles, and grief,
Applying the BRANCH by faith makes bitter waters sweet.
Pastor Ken Blue was born in Boswell, Ark. In 1955 he accepted Christ as his Savior. He and his wife Joyce were married in 1955. They have 5 children. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist Bible College in 1969 and started the Open Door Baptist Church in Lynnwood, Wa. where he pastored for 39 years. Because of health issues (ALS) he was forced to resign as pastor. It is his desire to continue to be used of God to help pastors and believers through this ministry.
