WOMEN OF DISCRETION

“As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.” Proverbs 11:22.
Few men can resist beautiful women. The only answer is found in the Proverbs; He must avoid her house and listen to wisdom’s cry.
If the fair woman without discretion could look at herself in the mirror, she would see a swine with an ornament of gold in its snout staring back at her. What a fit description of every woman who is empty of God’s grace and wisdom on the inside.
Beauty is not a sin; it is an adornment of God to be used for His glory. How revolting most of the beautiful women are when seen as God sees them. As the swine has no interest or concern for the jewel of gold, it plows through the mud and mire, so the woman lacking in the inward adornment has no knowledge of her own state. Many a beautiful form enshrines a revolting mind. The garb that most young women wear today advertises that a vain mind dwells within.
Young women, fill your inward soul on the wisdom of God and you will have true and lasting beauty. Look in the mirror and acknowledge what you see. Is a swine looking back at you? “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31:30. “As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.” Proverbs 11:22.

Pastor Ken Blue was born in Boswell, Ark. In 1955 he accepted Christ as his Savior. He and his wife Joyce were married in 1955. They have 5 children. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist Bible College in 1969 and started the Open Door Baptist Church in Lynnwood, Wa. where he pastored for 39 years. Because of health issues (ALS) he was forced to resign as pastor. It is his desire to continue to be used of God to help pastors and believers through this ministry.
